Looking for ROM Images for a CBM 4040 drive and 6510 Kernal for a TED System

Found the TED 6510 Kernal images for both PAL and NTSC! https://hackjunk.com/2017/06/23/commodore-16-plus-4-8501-to-6510-cpu-conversion/

Looking for ROM Images for a CBM 4040 drive and 6510 Kernal for a TED System

Perfect! Thanks. But I still need the new Kernal for the 6510. Good to know. I'm not sure what ePROMs I have, but if I can erase the one sent and reprogram with the correct image, then I shouldn't need an adaptor. At least not for the 4040. I'm also looking to program a new PAL Kernal for...

Looking for ROM Images for a CBM 4040 drive and 6510 Kernal for a TED System

I recently "fixed" my C16. And by "fixed," I mean I tried to replace the 8501 with a 6510, only to discover that the replacement ROM chip was not working. Replacing with the original ROM and CPU brought it back. I tried multiple 6510s and all had been tested in multiple C64s. So I'm...

    Commodore 16 not booting/Fault Screen

Possibly fixed. I finally managed to find my original Kernal ROM, so I was able to revert it back to the 8501 CPU. Whoever programed the 6510 replacement ROM must have either done it wrong or the ePROM was defective, since putting the original ROM and processor got it to boot almost right...

    Commodore 16 not booting/Fault Screen

Thanks. And sorry again for not getting back sooner. I needed to get some sockets for the 74LS257s. Speaking of which, I salvaged some from a broken C64 board. I have no idea if they work but I ordered some new ones that should be here by Tuesday. In any case, installed them on the theory...

    Commodore 16 not booting/Fault Screen

Yes. It seemed to make no difference. Yes. I can do this, but it's going to take me a bit to get some new 74LS257s without the bypass. In any case, here's what I got (Note 1: I'm using the 6510 processor with adaptor since it's a bit of a pain to get in and out. Note 2: I'm getting better...

    Commodore 16 not booting/Fault Screen

Ok. I've poked around a bit more, and I can safely say that it's not the RAM, either of the ROMs, or the PLA (I know that wasn't a real suspect, but I wanted to be sure). Basically, I removed each and the screen has been unaffected. I now have new RAM installed in sockets, and a 64k SRAM...

    Question about the Commodore 16

The answer to the second question is easy. They did. The C64 continued in sales throughout the early 90s. The C128 was released a year after the TED line in 1985. As for the first, near as I can tell, the TED machines were supposed to be a line of business computers with the 116 (sold in...

    Commodore 16 not booting/Fault Screen

Sorry this took me so long. I work on the weekends and have class on the week days, so I've been trying to fix this in what little spare time I have. In any case, I get a solid +5.02v on all ICs with my multimeter. Reset starts low but goes high after about a second. As for the clock: I...

    Commodore 16 not booting/Fault Screen

Checking power, clock, and reset were some of the first things I checked. All are present. Also, none of the chips are getting hot. That's what has me stumped. Unfortunately, the only ePROM programmer I have is for the C64 and I don't know how to use it (yet).

    Commodore 16 not booting/Fault Screen

Any idea what might be causing this? I've replaced the TED (new/old stock), PLA (PLAnkton, CPU (6510 w/ adapter), Kernal ROM (had to because of the cpu). This screen has shown up before, but it used to boot at least some of the time. But it was glitchy (printing random characters on the...

How do I turn the graphics screen boarder off in Extended Color BASIC?

I've been taking an online class, and since everyone else has set up their little backgrounds, I decided to put some of my vintage computers in mine running some looping BASIC programs on a green phosphor CRT. Obviously, since the classes run for a few hours, I don't want anything too static...

250407 Board with an AC power issue

Fixed. The 74LS193 at U30 was defective.

250407 Board with an AC power issue

I've been working on this board for some years now. Worked fine for a long time then stopped. However, I think I've narrowed in on the issue, I just don't know what's causing it. Using a Ray Carlson PSU, the 9v line puts out about 9.5 to 9.6v consistently. This is verified when plugged into the...

Need parts lists for monitor recaps

I cleaned the pots on the Amdek and it appears to be back to its old self. I'm still going to hold off on calling it fixed yet... Maybe give it a few days before I declare victory. But for the moment, the picture is bright an sharp, so I'm very happy. The Monitor /// will have to wait until...
