Anyone here use old home stereo gear?

This is in my PC room. In the "stereo room" I have a larger NAD with Technics turntable and a nice set of 90's Paradigm speakers.

    Rescued a CM-141 Monitor

It's got a really ugly picture, IMO. High dot pitch and low contrast.

AST SixPack Plus - lost its RAM?

Not sure if it's common and from the power supply or what, but my SixPack Plus burns through RAM. Every time I use it (granted, this is once every few years) there are a few more dead RAM chips on it. It could just be that it's old failing RAM, and there are so many on there, since it only uses...

Any Cisco buffs? Used Catalyst 3850 Switch license panic

We don't normally sell Cisco switches, but I had a client that requested them and wouldn't budge, so we sold some. It was a nightmare of bureacracy and licensing. I am surprised you found a way around it. Is this firmware very old, from before that requirement? Only issue there now is it...

I actually like Dunkin coffee and don't like Starbucks... Maybe because it's milder.

C64 Characters get messed up after running for a bit.

Oh, I missed that part! It could very well just be the character ROM then.

C64 Characters get messed up after running for a bit.

Dead test does not use the character ROM, so it's not that. This is a logic problem.

Identify backup progam used with tapes

I used to do tape restore/anaylsis for legal cases and had a stack of old drives 10 years ago. However, it's been many years since someone has asked for this service, so they fell into disrepair now. It's pretty easy to pull raw data with DD under Linux and most backup formats are easily...

Experts with The Poqet PC here? PCMCIA memory cards...

It was the first computer to use those cards, so there was no standard. Likely it will only accept the ones they made for it. You made a valiant effort!

    Retro console gaming?

I've never used rails. It just sort of slides in the slot without them. I do put a little padding on the "front" of the drive so it doesn't rattle around.

    Retro console gaming?

You will hate trying to transfer anything to the HD over the network port. It's a terribly slow connection, not even close to even 100M wire speed. The much faster way is to connect the HD to a PC with tools that can deal with the PS2 format. Only trouble is physically moving the drive. There...

Raw HDD cloning tool for DOS?

In the old days, you just hooked up two drives, fdisk/format/sys it, and used xcopy. That was cloning before NT4. I'm pretty sure it even worked up to Win98, but by then we'd use ghost.
