Windows 3.0 EGA color driver for 8088

It isn't working with my 5160. I had another version that was working... I am looking for it now.

Doesn't anyone else want to BBS with their PET?

I have been following for a long time. I sure would like to get one of my machines online (PET 4032, CBM 8032 and SuperPET).

    XT-FDC project level of interest

I also use an IDE to SD, but am having some trouble configuring it to boot to DOS. There really are not good instructions out there for this. Just people saying, I DID THIS... but no directions to explain how.

Read it all... Still no easy to order 8 bit ISA 1.44mb floppy controller?

CBM 8032 "factory upgrade" to SuperPET

Is the chip AM2716DC interchangeable with AM2716-1DC? The original chip is AM2716DC. Can it be replaced with AM2716-1DC?

CBM 8032 "factory upgrade" to SuperPET

Ok, I will give it a try.

CBM 8032 "factory upgrade" to SuperPET

I'm glad it works on the 8032 and 4032.

CBM 8032 "factory upgrade" to SuperPET

Turns out I only have 2 that work. Pins are damaged on my 3rd chip. It's very old stuff so I doubt anyone can burn the v4 bin file anymore. Maybe some are on eBay. I will need 3 more.

CBM 8032 "factory upgrade" to SuperPET

Yes. This is what enabled PET 4016/4032 and CBM 8032 to run Waterloo BASIC. I have a few more chips to check out. Hopefully I will have 3 or 4 of these that work.

CBM 8032 "factory upgrade" to SuperPET

Some success. One of my 8032 with the chip works correctly.

CBM 8032 "factory upgrade" to SuperPET

I don't have an eeprom burner, or know how to do it. But the chips in UD12 look like they would work (already programmed).

CBM 8032 "factory upgrade" to SuperPET

Another strange thing is 3 of them have UD12 populated, but only 1 of the 3 have UD11 populated. No idea what that's about.

CBM 8032 "factory upgrade" to SuperPET

This is what I have in UD12 of my 4x CBM 8032s. From different purchases, but 3 were in schools. I would guess the white sticker could be a serial number issued by Watcom. Sadly, there is nothing in UD12 of my PET 4032s.

CBM 8032 "factory upgrade" to SuperPET

The 6502 only (not superpet) - PET 4016/4032 and CBM 8032, have a chip that fits into the empty memory socket. This enables Waterloo BASIC to run. I was guessing the socket is UD12, but I don't know - I could check mine to see which is empty. What I meant to ask you, is the file you linked...

    Bad CHIP - CBM 8050 drive - 901887

If I understand, you are saying to try drive 0 to format a new/ blank disk and see if it reads the newly formatted disk. If drive 0 does read it, then it's out of alignment (therefore drive 1 won't read it because it's formatted with misalignment). But if it won't see the blank disk and format...

    Bad CHIP - CBM 8050 drive - 901887

Thank you. I found one online to purchase, and successfully replaced it. There are no error lights, but drive 0 doesn't read. I suspect it is out of alignment, but I am not going to repair it - just selling it as it is with one side working properly. I have two of them like that.

CBM 8032 "factory upgrade" to SuperPET

Are these to be burned to a chip? Is this the cracked version (1.1), or is it the original version 1? From my understanding, Waterloo BASIC is on a chip (in UD12) which is normally an empty memory slot (PET 4016/4032/ CBM 8032), at memory address $9000. I haven't specifically checked my...

CBM 8032 "factory upgrade" to SuperPET

Waterloo BASIC runs on the PET 4032 and CBM 8032, however it requires a chip that goes into the empty memory slot. I am trying to find out what chip/program, and how to initiate it. I expect it's as you posted the Professor doing. From high school days, I'm pretty certain we did not have to...

CBM 8032 "factory upgrade" to SuperPET

Waterloo BASIC will run on a PET 4032 and CBM 8032, with a chip installed in the vacant RAM slot. All of the PET 4032 and CBM 8032 in my high school computer lab could run Waterloo (Structured) BASIC. I am trying to track down the correct chip/programing. I also have a SuperPET which runs...
