The South C64+1541 drive+Gemstick+C2N(?) tape drive + some vic20 stuff + Commodore dust covers

I'm not a commodore guy and I'm unable to test any of this, I don't have a power adapter or drive cables. Everything appears excellent condition externally. Also throwing in what seems to be a Vic20 video output adapter and a vic20 power supply that was in excellent condition until it slipped...

I have become obsessed with vintage printers.

I really have no idea how this happened, but here I am. Since I've spent literally months tinkering with various vintage printers, modern printers, and printer emulators I suppose I might as well share some of what I've found regarding vintage printers, new printers, and connectivity options...

Has anyone used this LPT2USB adapter to connect a vintage PC to a modern HP inkjet?

https://www.ak-nord.de/Documents/Datasheet_EN/DS_LPT2USB_ENG.pdf I'd like to use this to connect a modern HP inkjet to a vintage PC. If I specify an HP 550C driver in Windows for the inkjet it prints out just fine, so I'd HOPE an old application with HP deskjet or laserjet support would work...

MSDOS software to generate printable ASCII calenders

I seem to remember there was a simple MSDOS application that would generate a printable monthly or yearly calender as a text file. I may be thinking of pcal for Linux consoles. Anyone know of a simple command line app that generates a text calendar like I'm remembering? Thanks!

Artisoft "The Network Eye" / tne.exe; what was it?

I've seen a reference to an app called "The Network Eye", aka tne.exe; apparantly it was a remote control program for MSDOS systems. Anyone have any information on it? Can't find anything else beyond a passing mention...

Least memory hungry printer networking options?

Is there any sort of basic packet driver print redirection software? I know that MS network client can do printer sharing, but it consumes a LOT of memory. I feel like something more efficient ought to be otu there somewhere...

Printing from vintage computers: New Epson LX350 and Retroprinter PI hat are phenomenal

I've been interested in getting my vintage PCs connected for printing. I've ruined(?) an HP Laserjet IIID with an ebay cartridge that was a solid brick of toner and seems to have damaged some of the feed gears. I've had two Laserjet 1100 printers begin feeding multiple sheets at once or...

Sorting through some cards, and this tiny component was left on desk afterwards. No idea what it is or which card I just broke...

Any ideas what this component even is? It almost looks like one of the sensors mice use to detect movement of the ball? No part numbers that I can see.

Taking MS-Works into the modern era...

Like most time-consuming retro computing projects it started off with some idle time and a pretty bad idea. Basically I found myself sitting on a three hour conference call in my man cave wishing I could roll back 35 yeaars and go back to using the Tandy 1000 sitting on my desk as my primary...

Some MS Works for MSDOS 3.0 questions...

Is it possible to import or export CSV files to the spreadsheet app? Are there any automated tool to convert WKS/WPS files to XLS/DOC/RTF/whatever?

Any hardware that interfaces USB/BT controllers to a DB15 port?

I'd love to use a modern gamepad with vintage games. Anyone know of a project that would let me connect something like an 8bitdo bluetooth controller, or wired USB game controller to a DB15 gameport? A raspberry pi seems like it would be ideal, using the GPIO pins, but then it occurs to me...

The South Working IBM N51SLC with original bag, mouse, power supply. Boots from hard disk, no errors

Monochrome display. Seems to boot and function perfectly fine. The rubberized coating has started to feel slightly sticky and has some superficial damage, the plastic itself seems to be in good shape. All the buttons and display controls seem to be fine. It's a 386SLC-16mhz 10mb system with...

The South Toshiba T1100Plus, excellent condition with original power supply, bag, working battery. Tested to boot and execute MSDOS commands

This is an extremely nice laptop. Keyboard is excellent, battery still works but not sure what the runtime is these days. Was used as a travel laptop by a friend for a very brief period of time before being packed away. Boots from floppy and runs various apps and msdos commands without issue...

New desk is sitting in front of large window, how can I best keep some vintage beige box hardware from yellowing?

I've got a Tandy 1000 and some other vintage beige box hardware sitting on my office desk for downtime tinkering. I'm concerned that it will begin to yellow now that it's near this large window. I have some semi-dark curtains but a fair amount of light passes through them, and I often will have...

Mint condition Libretto 50CT, original hard drive etc. but very dim display. Any fix?

Title pretty much says it all. Gorgeous, almost unused libretto 50ct with factory image on hard drive. Works like a champ but the screen is quite dim. I assume the CCFL bulb is going out, are there any options for repair or a part number for replacement?

Both currently run perfectly. Pentium 75, 24mb memory, 560mb hard drives boot to msdos. S3 PCI video card. One US dollar per megahertz ($75) + shipping sounds reasonable, but make me an offer. CR2032 batteries werer removed and inspected, no leakage seen.

Picked up something that might be interesting to SUN workstation fans, a Penguin x86 SBC

Sun Penguin PWA-SunPCI SBC Single Board Computer https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SunPCi Looks like its a hardware board to add MSDOS/Windows compatibility to Sparcstation systems. I think it's the 400mhz version. Seems like it'd be pretty rare. Anyone know if it has any function outside of...

Tragedy has struck; Tandy Sensation II boot loop

Not sure precisely what's gone wrong here. It's been on a shelf for a while, I pulled it out to tinker with last week, been playing lots of games and generally having a blast on it. I powered it on the other morning, and it seems to be stuck in a boot loop; every 1 second the hard drive...

    Omnibook 900 HDD interface?

Anyone know what the HDD connector on the Omnibook 900 looks like? I bought one in excellent shape, looks brand-new but the HDD caddy is missing. Peekinginto the HDD bay makes me think it's some sort of card-edge connector.
