Back in 1984 when I went to DeVry, there were IBM PCs (5150) in the lab and someone had a program that did 3D wire graphs. I have always wanted that program, but I don't know who made it. I bet there were a number of different programs, but this one was pretty simple. Just plug in a couple numbers and away it went. I am attaching a pic of what kind of graphs it did, but not as advanced as the the one in the pic.

This may not be what you were thinking of but the book 100 READY-TO-RUN PROGRAMS & SUBROUTINES FOR THE IBM PC® has a program Plot-3D which has a similar image as one of the sample results. This covers between pages 159 and 165. Plug in 7 values to set the bounding ranges.

I'll check it out. I don't have to have the same program as I used, just something to create them. I'd like to automate it as a running demo on the machine. Most apps I find that would make a great demo, they don't loop or change and I don't want burn-in.
