4 Bootable CF cards that work in a Lo-tech XT-CF Lite card.

With MS-DOS 5.xx or 6.xx.

Will pay for the cards, labour and postage.

Some care is needed.

------------------------------------------
For example:

I have an XT-CF card, that has release R622 of the XUB on it.
Julie has an XT-CF card, that has release R602 (R602, not R622) of the XUB on it.
I partition+format a CF using my XT-CF card. I test the CF. It boots and operates fine on my XT-CF card.
I pass the CF to Julie.
Problem: Julie reports that when trying to boot from the CF, she sees the error of "Missing operating system".

It is due to a difference between R622 and R602. 'Been there, done that.'

Ideally, provide the version/release of XUB that is on your Lo-tech XT-CF-Lite.
That way, the person supplying the CF's can use the same version/release of XUB as you, to help get a good result.

------------------------------------------
For example:

The person supplying the CF's will ideally have a Lo-tech XT-CF-Lite.
In that way, you will get CF's known to work properly with the Lo-tech XT-CF-Lite.

[ I have two 32MB CF cards (same make-model) that work 100% attached to an XT-IDE Rev 4, but misbehave when attached to my known good XT-CF-Lite V4.1 ]

------------------------------------------

If you cant find anyone local , let me know. Being in the states is going to make shipping costly.

It is due to a difference between R622 and R602. 'Been there, done that.'
The difference between CHS translation and NO translation, Hence the 'missing operating system' error, It changed in XUB r606

How do I find the bios revision?
When you boot the PC you will see the XUB HOTKEY Bar at the top (Depending on version) and information below including the Date of build, What is the Date ?
See Modem7's site for an example

So I need someone with the same type of xt-cf-lite and the same revision of the XUB?
For the CF creation task, someone could take their Lo-tech XT-CF-Lite to your XUB version, then revert back to the version they had.

I have gotten an 8-bit scsi card and hdd so I might end need a cf card.
Just plugged in the card and hdd and it worked first time.
So, CF's no longer required ?

Not at the moment. Going to tidy my computer room then see what I'll put in the XT and in the 5150. Then see about the DTK XT Clone

Thanks. I have reflected the information in the relevant item at [here].

(A page refresh in your browser may be required.)
Rather than wiping the CF and Re-installing, The easiest 'Fix' is to reconfigure the later / latest revision of the XUB to use ' Assisted LBA ' and it should work all fine and dandy as it did before.

My problem at the moment and in the thread about sergeys fdc s I have no way of getting relevant files onto 5.25 or 3.5 disks so I'll be putting out another SOS, save our software
