DEC units on ebay

I'll be you didn't know you could stack MicroVAX 3100's 14 boxes high and not crush the ones on the bottom. Maybe technically it's 12 high because the bottom two don't look like MicroVAXen.

100 euros is fine, but thanks to our tariffs it's pretty pointless to try and ship.
 
It's confusing, but he asked me for 1500 € for one of those micro-PDPs (which I didn't buy), so I find it hard to understand why he set the price at 100 euros. Also, he doesn't want to ship, even if the buyer pays for shipping (the usual way on Leboncoin.fr), even though he set the shipping price at "3.99 €" (sic) in the ad.

I stopped by his warehouse last year and was able to examine it a little. It's an early model PC04 that does not have the fiber-optic 'light guide' ECO that was found in later models that improved read reliability. It's great that it includes the rack-mount rails, PC8E interface and I/O cables. The punch seems OK (it's not seized).

Both Jörg's extender boards and the ECS connectors are available from Todd Goodwin. He has them listed on the RetroBrew Computers Board Inventory page. When I asked, Todd said he still had about 250 connectors left after my order.

The $5900 was the dyslexic price. They breathed a sigh of relief when it didn't sell for that price.

I think that if in perfect condition with the interface board and cables this would be worth maybe, maybe $3000. It has a bunch of documentation and paper tapes included so maybe another $500. But what do I know? There is a lower limit when you are selling where if you go below that limit it is not worth the hassle.
 
He sent me an offer to buy it for $8550. I do not understand the thought process of raising the price back up after nobody bid on it at $5900. I also wondered if that $5900 listing was a dyslexic moment, but I'm skeptical of that since he let the auction run its full course without canceling it. 🤷🏻‍♂️ In any case, I find myself between jobs right now, so I wouldn't be buying it right now even at a sell-quickly price. I hope that whoever eventually buys it posts here so I know who to be jealous of.

Anyway, here is something else I don't need, but maybe somebody else does? It's an RK05 front panel, starting at $20 opening bid.


ISTR also getting a notice that the price was lowered on the quad extender board I linked previously.
