Direct Messages: unable to create a new one

Hi. First thank you for putting in the effort to migrate the Forums to this new platform. Much appreciated.

Minor: In the migration, I lost the ability to create new "Direct Messages" to other Forum users. I had this ability on the old platform and used it for over a year with good success.

Members with under 10 posts are not allowed to use the direct message system. This being allowed on the old site was definitely an oversite and a hole in the permissions on the old site.

Once you hit 10 messages you should automatically be promoted to a regular user and will be able to send direct messages.

I am a bit confused. If you had a userid on the old system wouldn't you have had more messages than you show here? Or for some reason you chose to or had to create a new account. Anyone migrated over has their message count the same as it was on the old system. Just curious is all.

No, he did not have more messages. Yet he was able to use DM since the old forum lacked the rule that you need 10 posts for DM.
