DMK file creator with support for NewDOS80?

Hi,
I'm looking to insert a bunch of discrete CMD files into NewDOS 80v2.0 virtual disk images, preferably DMK format.
I have looked at Matthew Reed's TRS-Tools - and while it can read NewDOS 80v2.0 disk images, it doesn't appear that it can create them - only TRS-DOS and L-S/LDOS.

This is for use with a MIRE expansion interface replacement device hooked up to my Model 1.
I have tried creating a new empty TRS-DOS 1.3 DMK - 40 track, SS, DD and mounting it as a virtual drive via the MIRE. When I attempted to reformat it under NewDOS80 v2, it fails with
"MOTOR FAST"

Short of making duplicates of my SS SD boot disk DMK file, does anyone have any suggestions on how to create NewDOS80 virtual data disks?

If you try one of the TRS-80 Emulators, they should be able to do the job for you.

You likely also want the PDRIVE Finder from the last URL.

I assume you know about PDRIVE and how to set it accordingly.

Two examples of DMK files created with Matthew Reed's TRS32 and displayed with TRS-Tools. In fact two different already present DMK files were reformatted with NEWDOS/80 v2.0 to provide empty data disks.

40 tracks, single sided, single density:
nd80sssd.dmk, filesize 637KB, PDRIVE parameters: TI=A,TD=A,TC=40,SPT=10,TSR=0,GPL=2,DDSL=17,DDGA=2, user disk space under NEWDOS/80: 100kB

80 tracks, double sided, double density:
nd80dsdd.dmk, filesize 0.98MB, PDRIVE parameters: TI=A,TD=G,TC=80,SPT=36,TSR=0,GPL=8,DDSL=20,DDGA=4, user disk space under NEWDOS/80: 720kB

Some formatting experiments:
The nd80sssd.dmk can be reformatted to 40 tracks with 18 sectors (double density) but not much further extended because of the limited DMK filesize of 637KB.
You can even reformat the nd80dsdd.dmk to 90 tracks or more. But I don't know if the result would be a reliable virtual disk.

Were those two images created using thew TRS32 emulator - OR were they already present and then reformatted using NewDOS80?
If they were created using the TRS32 - do you mean there is an option in the emulator itself to create images, or did you use his TRS-Tools?
If you used his TRS-Tools to create an image and then reformatted it under the emulator - what was the original image?

I've created them with TRS-Tools as a TRSDOS 2.3 DMK file. Then they were reformatted using the TRS32 with NEWDOS/80.

I used TRS-Tools. You can also create a new DMK floppy disk image under TRS32 and format it with NEWDOS/80. I have just tried it. It first on creation had a file size of 16 bytes and after formatting it has 0.97 MB. It was the first time for me using the direct way with the TRS32 to create a DMK.

This worked perfectly - I tried it this evening and easily able to create the custom floppy images I needed.
