Hi,
Recently i have caught a Canon CX-1 :D .
It is working properly but unfortunately i have only a disk with Software for a Dentist.
I wonder if there are other other owners of a CX-1.
A clean MCX-disk or more would be awesome.
The disks are easy to read with teledisk.

Chris

I’ve been looking for a Balloonjet printer for some time to match up to a vintage computer portrait machine

I’ve often wondered if this was one of the first canon printers

Aloha !

As I am catalogging my collection of computers, consoles, software, pereipherals etc, I came across a Canon CX-1 !
It still works, although it could use a bit of work. But as so many of you, I have no floppies to boot from.
I don't even know what to do at the prompt when it is turned on...

Could anybody help me with this ???

Hi Paul in australia here.

Have got my CX-1 working, but only floppy i have is a secured games floppy.

Does anyone know what DOS/Windows based image software would work to back it up, and does anyone have an image of the system disc?

Thanks
Paul

Chris, Can you write this on a Standard dos machine with a 1.2meg 5.25 floppy drive, or do you need to use one of the drives out of the CX-1 and what type of
floppy disc, 2SDD etc?

Yes, it´s possible to write that images (40 track, 48 tpi) on a 80 track, 96 tpi (720k and 1,2 MB Drives) drive using doublestep. I´d recommend to erase the Disk wit a magnet before writing with doublestep.
It´s more reliable to write the images with a 40 track 48 tpi Ddive (in DOS it´s typically a 360 kB Drive). The Drives of the CX-1 will work in a DOS PC (with modified jumper Settings).
2SDD will be the correct media.

Thanks mate,
I will image the Games disc and upload when I get a free second. I luv the black Jack ;-)
It is protected, so would be interesting to find out if we can crack the protection.
