I guess we've probably all seen this on the keyboards for the "Mercedes Silver" TRS-80 machines.... The bottom of the keyboard often gets a lot of wear from wrists and it just looks awful. Has anyone had any success either respraying or restoring those keyboards so they kinda look 'new' again? Any tips & tricks to share?

Have you considered just repainting the housing? You may need to experiment a bit, but it should work with something like this:

It will mask the wear pattern in the plastic considerably. You might also "gentle" some of the more obvious curves with a bit of fine-grain (ca. 400 grit) wet emery paper.

In extreme cases, consider auto body filler. It works very well to fill in. e.g.

Yes, I was considering that if I could find the matching paint color. I'll try your suggestion and see if I can match it to the existing machine. I would like to try and keep it as original in appearance as possible, but the wear on these machines make them look downright awful.
