Hello All in Australia and Globally. Please Moderators bear with me, as I am certain I am likely not to word this correctly as its NOT specifically Vintage Computer and bits for Auction. In fact its NOT an Auction BUT an upcoming Clearing Sale on 8th Aug 2026
And NOT just any clearing sale but the END OF AN ERA in Australian Electronics Test Equipment Sales/Hire/Repair and like.
A lot of this test equipment you would / could use during repairs of our old Computer Hardware. One POINT is the number of SUB-STANDARD Voltage sources and Resistance Sources for sale, so you can keep check of your own instruments in your home lab.
Its a CASH only and Carry away. I saw people last time with car and a trailer loading both fully.
The Company in question I have know over +50 years. The owner, Bernie Lebenbaum from Melbourne, Australia has been buying surplus test equipment and 'stores' from various Australian Government Departments and numerous Tier 1 & 2 Private Companies Research Establishments and Labs, inc some overseas, NASA inc, over that +50 year time frame. He has a MASSIVE warehouse cram packed with kit. Bernie is now in a Nursing home and his Kids and Business Partner are doing the closing down of the premises that they have to vacate by end September.
This upcoming event on 8th August between 8am and 1pm is expected to be the last of 3 they are having.
I went to the previous one on July 11th and with just Aus$150 CASH came away with 8 items. Two High Voltage Tektronix probes I can use on Monitor EHT circuit trouble shooting. A 30 each step Resistor, Capacitor, Inductor Standards substitution box with all 1% components. Some more special test leads and CPU pods . And included was an HP EMI Close field probe 9kHz to 30Mhz to use with my Spectrum Analyzer. I saw a huge number of RF and Microwave components and and wave guides etc.
I took a lot of photos 35 of which I uploaded to IMGUR. I am including the link in this post.
I will be going on 8th Aug getting there for 8am.
And NO I am not going to buy lots to save a lot from eWaste. I just turned 75 and paying out my Mortgage is my Prime Money pit.
I possibly could be a "Spotter" for those of you not in my State or Country and can look for very specific items you need for bits.
BUT note I am not in position to purchase anything for anyone then to pack and ship it.
All I could do is have a list with item and your contact details and if I see said item I will discuss with Jordan ( Bernie's oldest son) how he can interact with you to a mutual benefit.
Anyways if nothing else it will be an adventure.
