IBM 5154 EGA monitor fried... is it a goner ?

Hi Kanpai!

It's great to see more people working to bring these old 5154 monitors back from the dead.
Your repair looks to be quite extensive, so well done getting it to power up and display a picture!

Thank you for posting the pictures, they are going to be extremely helpful!
Since I am in Australia, I think that your version of the monitor should be closer to ours (we're also 220/230/240v) than what is in Sam's. I'll keep an eye out for component value differences.
Sadly some of the original components on mine are either missing or have been replaced by previous bad repairs, so I'll have to hope that between the Sam's schematic and your photos I can get close enough for those.

I'll post updates if I can make progress.
Best of luck with yours, I'm sure you can get it working 100% with enough time and care. :)

Thank you for posting the images of the main board, Kanpai!
And let me just say, you have done great work restoring your monitor as well!

I assume that this will be sufficient for you, Irrationalforest? Kanpai beat me to posting the images.
I realized also that it is not possible to take a good photo of the main board without pulling the board off the chassis.
Half or more of the pcb will be behind the plastic case of the monitor if the board is still attached to the chassis.

Hi Vic!
Thank you for checking in. Yes, Kanpai has definitely given me what I need in order to proceed.
No pressure to take your monitor apart. 👍
I've already got to work repairing things and adding bodge wires to replace some of the broken traces now I know exactly where they went.
Everyone's help is much appreciated.
