Hello everyone, first post here!

I recently got my hands on a Olivetti M240 with MD 12A monitor. Cleaned it all up and removed the leaking battery. (haven't replaced it yet, so currently nothing there) The rest looks to be in quite decent condition. It powers on and boots just fine, floppy drives work and even the HDD is detected!
The wird thing is, the text on screen doesn't start on the first line, and also does not scroll. The graphics card (GO 467) doesn't seem to have any adjustment options.

I've connected the monitor to my Commodore64, as it is just composite and it seems to work ok. no wonky line placement.

If anyone has any ideas or suggestions i'd love to hear. Can it be the missing battery?

Pic of weirdness attached!

It does this even without any kind of drive inserted, no HDD, no floppy. So I don't think its loading anything. Currently have the power supply out and open as it was having some issues so gonna replace all caps and any other faulty parts. When it's back together I'll do some testing.

Check if the dip switches on that mainboard are set up correctly. If this is Ok, try to replace the graphics card. You should be able to use any 8 Bit ISA graphcs card in M240. For changing the graphics card, you need to take care on two dip switch blocks to tell the system which card is used (EGC enable/disable, mono/color/40/80chars), see attached for the settings.

I've got the power supply all fixed up so I can get back to testing. I have another video card on the way and a IBM 5153 to test with so I'll post when I know more.

Well as it turns out it is the graphics card. Received my Tulip card today and with the IBM 5153 it works perfect. So now to learn how to fix a Olivetti graphics card..
Thanks all!
