I have an old Gateway running Windows 95. The computer has two floppy drives, a 5 1/4 on top and a 3 1/2 inch below. When I boot the computer up My Computer shows only the 5 1/4 drive (A drive) defining it as a 3 1/2 drive. I can go into CMOS and enter the correct information for the two drives and both work perfectly. Next time I boot up, however, the issue of only one incorrectly defined drive shows up in My Computer. Anybody know how I can fix this permantly?

Thanks for your response. I'm not getting a battery error message, so I assume the battery is OK. Not sure what you mean by disable "Seek on POST"

My BIOS has the setting you mentioned. Should I set it for "Enabled?" Re the battery, wouldn't I get a battery error message?

Try it with the seek setting either way. I mostly notice that the battery is getting bad by the RTC not keeping accurate time between booting.
