It is a NEC versa 6230 and for the past few days i have been trying to fix its lcd. It will only display white pixels and nothing else. Brightness control works and the vga out works. But i am restoring this laptop and would like the original screen to work. Anyone have a idea what the problem could be?

LCD is defective. You might get lucky and be able to replace the capacitors on the LCD and bring it back to life or just replace it with an exact replacement screen. Looks to be a 13" LCD.

Just picked up the same laptop. Glad to hear you got yours going. I am waiting on a hard drive caddy to get my build started. I had this laptop in college so rebuilding for a keepsake. Mine has the CD bay, but no floppy bay. Searching for one if anyone has an extra or parts machine.
