Hello everyone. I recently acquired a gate array model 4 that only displays a raster on screen. It boots a disk and responds to commands such as DIR etc. but nothing is displayed on screen. Both adjustment pots are good and I suspect the fault lies on the video board, Is there a source for replacement ones?

Thanks in advance.

There are good service manuals for the Model 4 Gate array. Why not have a look at them, and try to
see what is wrong with the Video card.

I wanted to get a working board to just confirm the fault lies in the video board and not elsewhere before I go trying to fix it. However after fixing up the model 3 that I got at the same time as the 4 I finally had a chance to pull out the video board and examine it. I think I may have found the problem..

The broken off piece was stuck in the connector. Hopefully some TLC can fix it. I did get another video board which works fine so I know I have a good model 4 to test my repair in.

on an unrelated note. What is a good paint color for the model 4 case? Its a bit scratched and I want to give it a repair/respray. I did the model 3 and it looks really nice now.

I have no clue on the Paint for Model 4. There was a long posting in the old forum of a guy that
had the paint color matched and put in aerosol cans. But, no color stated in the posting.

I don't have a clue what type glue would hold the PCB in place to repair the fractured piece.
You might try posting a question on the Forum as someone has likely done this before.

Surely if you know what to do. It's possible but there are some steps to do. At least I have an idea what I would do. If you need further assistance let us know.
