Anyone know what the color coding is on the output of a model I power supply? I’ve got red, green, white, black wires. I don’t want to open it if I don’t have to, but if I do, any tips other than what is on Ian’s page?

Here is a Photo of the Plug Wiring, but no color codes. Use your meter and check the AC
Voltage From Pin 1 to Pin 3, and the DC Voltage from Pin 2 (Positive) to Pin 4.

Basically, I have a power supply without a connector… so, trying to figure out what’s what. I’m going to guess red and black are dc, green and white ac, then test with meter. That would make a bit of sense….

Here is the complete page from that TRS-80 Model 1 manual. The IMPORTANT DIN PLUG is the one
one they keyboard unit. This Female DIN Plug has to have the power applied as shown on this page.
The Plug says FRONT VIEW, so make sure the ~+19.8 VDC is applied to Pin 2 as GND is PIN 4.

I'll see if I can check one of my Power supplies and see what the color codes are. There doesn't
seem to be a good way to take that DIN Connector apart. I didn't want to pry to hard and break it.
