upgrade IOS to unsigned version but not the latest....

my wifes iphone SE. Running IOS 13. Her apple watch (I gave her for Christmas) requires ios 14 or newer. She looked online and doesn't like 15. looks like 14 is not signed by apple anymore so itunes wont let you just advance to 14, but rather requires you to go straight to 15. Really annoying!

Is there anything that can be done to put whatever IOS onto my iphone I want? I'm so sick of Apple products. All sorts of products claim you can use them to upgrade or downgrade. They all cost money, that I'd rather not spend unless I'm certain that it will work. My luck the product will only allow you to up or down grade to signed versions of IOS. Which puts me right back to where I start.

Go to an Apple store and ask? Unless you want to brick the iPhone, that's pretty much the only solution.

In general, no. The guts of these devices do not belong to you. They belong to Apple. You have to do what Apple says.

Meh, I don't buy Apple products, I just take em when the poor end users get sick of fighting them to work, then I learn how to deal with them. Says the guy who has a 24" iMac I just use to mess around, and possibly a "too-old-to-update" iPad coming.

And seriously - FUCK Apple! It was given to me by someone who bought it with their hard earned money and got tired of it or lost bragging rights by having it, so I will do with it as I wish, whether that's soldering on replacement parts or jamming it up the arse of Steve Job's ghost! If it really mattered so much, I'd just slap Banana Jr. stickers on all of em XD.

I totally agree with everyone! To be 100% completely honest. Natalie and I both got iPhone SE’s because we upgraded from our flip phones. I didn’t know about iPhone or Android at the time so I took the cheapest route.

Never will I ever spend more than a couple hundred on a phone. Ever. Especially some POS iPhone like the dopes line up for on release day.

But to say that i don’t own the insides of the IPhone I just bought and cant install whatever software on it i want is completely ridiculous. That’s like saying the new Lenovo thinkpad I bought..... Linux? No way! Your stuck with windows 11. Also puke.

ThAnks for the input everyone. We may just end up returning the iwatch and saying fuck apple products. Cause let’s be honest, they’ve been junk since after the color classic. Yep! Apple IIgs the best forever!

i pay $45 to $60 for a brand new android phone. I couldnt justify $200 for something as annoying as a cell phone... too damn stress inducing.

And Apple is a status symbol for people with no status....

Definitely couldn’t agree more. When I’m ready for a new phone I’ll probably find a secondhand Android based phone. I’m so sick of iPhones.
