Virtual DEC KEY REPOSITORY

The RICM also has a set of DEC field service keys. I will check what is there.
I'd be glad to swap copies of anything you don't have for anything I don't have, assuming they're copyable - I don't know of any place that will copy the Pagoda, but can certainly check.

I also have a ring of 75+ non-DEC smaller (non-door) keys with everything from telco cabinets to fire alarm pullboxes to filing cabinet masters. I'll consider requests for copies from people with a valid justificiation for needing one (and again, cylinder face number codes will help).

Here's the first of the non-DEC key lists. Let me know if this is too off-topic and I'll stop. But maybe it will help someone identify a key they need:

I wouldn't be surprised if it was a CH751. That's probably the most common wafer lock in existence. Fortunately, picking wafer locks is trivial (as long as they're the 1/4 or 1/2 turn type - I once ran into a wafer lock where the "latch" was actually a screw thread, and it was pick, 1/4 turn, re-pick, 1/4 turn, repeat).

Are there any numbers on the face of the lock cylinder?

The main cabinet has DE-0 (DE-O?) on the front and DE-S on the back. The Unibus cabinet has DE-S on the front and I can't easily access the back right now.

If memory serves, I "unlocked" the cabinets by reaching up inside and unhooked the hinge pin (or unbolted the bottom hinge plate), then unbolted the latch plate and rotated it. My desire for a key is more about having a handle to open the cabinet than anything else :)

I don't have a 780 at home to check (just a masthead), but the next time I'm at the LSSM I'll check and see what the locks are and which of my keys work. If I find some, I can make copies and send them to you.

I suspect there may be a difference between pre-FCC and FCC cabinets.

I would much appreciate it. I believe these to be pre-FCC cabinets (no springy fingers), but I'm not positive.

I checked all of my keys the LSSM non-FCC 780. Only one opened the front. Most opened the back because the lock has been so trashed.

I'd be glad to make copies and send them to you (your profile says you're in the US). Drop me a DM with your address if you want a set.

Edited to add: I'm looking for 11/780 (not 785) console floppies with either WCS125.PAT or WCS126.PAT (those will be the filenames if you put the console floppy in an RT-11 system or use EXCHANGE to look at it from VMS). If booting, it should say "WCS=0F-10" as part of the boot version banner.
