Still has the memory on it. I'm not 100% sure, but it sure looks familiar, bent slot cover and all. I'm well past the point of caring. I only paid 5 bucks each for em back in the day. Time to let it go...

I've been busy working on a constructive solution to my problem, I'll be tied up for at least another year or two. Maybe then I'll do something worthwhile here. Till then, try not to miss my smiling face too much ;)

yeah, I remember those. A friend of mine worked there and occasionally send a few cards my way. I traded the 410 for 510 because the BIOS on the 410 wasn't terribly friendly to older IDE drives (had some problems with Maxtor 540s)

Interesting bit of info there. I've never noticed a problem with anything under 4gb before, but then again I don't have a very large assortment of old ide's. Most of mine are western digital or seagate. Do you happen to know of any other incompatibilities or reasons why these incompatibilities exist? If the problem is a badly written bios, it probably could be corrected. However, I plan to use them with either cf or microdrives, so incompatibility with older drives is pretty much a non-issue for me. Now, if they should happen to choke on compact flash, I'll definitely drop 10 bricks.

By the way, I tried my best to ignore it, but I ended up bidding and winning that auction. I just had to know, and sure enough, on closer scrutiny it turned out not to be one of the cards I'm looking for. I knew it was a crazy long shot, but as wierd as my luck has been this past year, anything is possible.

buslogic basically licensed their ATA line from another company; they didn't do much themselves. I am still sitting on a 510 (in box etc.)
what ARE you looking for?

From what I've read, I believe that this period was the beginning of the end for buslogic, they sold out a few years later.
I find it hard to believe that there's member here who doesn't know about the mess I got myself in shortly after I signed up. Giving you the benefit of a doubt, however, I'll tell you: I'm looking to recover my own property, and in the process, beat
someone at their own game. I may be the only one who knows, but just getting my cards back would be immensely
satisfying. It's not that I think the cards are so hot, it's about learning what happens when you tick off a person of my
particular "spectrum".

ok, now it's coming back to me; you're trying to locate the stuff someone rip off of you. sorry to hear that you've not yet succeeded, and do wish you best of luck; my guess is that the person tried to peddle it and discovers it has a... very limited market, and probably tossed it.

that said, Buslogic at the time was a SCSI HBA company; BT-946/948/930 to this date still occasionally shows up on fleaBay. The IDE line (yeah, this predates ATA) were licensed from TekRAM. Mylex acquired them for their ASIC people and the Harpoon chip (the single chip PCI solution on the BT-930) but most people left within two years after the acquisition. I still work with a few of those people (the guy that wrote the firmware for BT-948 is now a program manager, as is the guy that did the board layout; the guy that did the BIOS was laid off recently, and will probably be on Marvell's payroll soon.)

I think I still have the BT-510A in retail box and the BT-445S in a 486 box, and piles of BT-946s and BT-948s.
