I didn't see a forum dedicated to events and gatherings -- if this is in the wrong place, I apologize. I found this post on another forum and immediately thought some of the guys here might be interested in attending this event.

"While primarily an 8-bit Commodore event, you're welcome to show up with your A8, Apple or Aquarius if you've got something neat to show off or sell. Just please email the organizer if you're planning on bringing a big ADAM posse, for example. It's being held at the same location as recent SWRAP-run Commodore EXPOs, and the 2006 Video Game Summit."

Jeri Ellsworth, Robin Harbron and Adrian Gonzalez (the designers of the C64 DTV) will be there, along with several Commodore vendors including JP Products By Mail and Centisble Software.

According to the website, "Dealer tables are free. User tables are free. Admission is free." Can't beat that!

I will have a dealers table and will be selling and signing copies of Commodork! I hope all you Chi-Town people can drop by and say hey!

It sounds big. At first I thought it was a small replacement get-together for people in the area who missed out on SWRAP expos. But I like the name: Emergency Chicagoland Commodore Convention. :)

Man, I wish I could go. I'd love to spend a weekend geeking-out over vintage Commorore computers and software!

Oh, well. Maybe one of these days...

At OVGE I did a small Commodore display to go with the book release. I made a lot of money selling books and extra hardware and did a really good job of not spending much this year. I'm afraid that at ECCC, things won't be the same. The C64 is really my weak-spot, and I'm betting I'll be dropping some serious cash at the show.

PS: DoctorPepper, I ordered a new batch of books last night -- I expect them to be in by the end of next week.

Is anyone else planning on going to this? If nothing else it's going to be cool to meet the C64 DTV team. (Plus, I plan on blowing a ton of cash at the show as well.)
