You know, it just slipped my mind!
I went to this sale at a church, when right as i stepped in, i saw this old pc sitting on a table with a ega moniter, a printer, and logitech 3 button AT mouse. With quick skill, i talked the head honcho down to $5 for the whole system. the company logo on the front is MMG. Has anybody ever heard of mmg? the pc was first bought by its original owner in 1986. Also, when i boot the system up, the system loads up this idiotic non- ibm TUI (text user interface, just to degrade how much i know about old ibm clones) which was only like a user inter face layer on top of the dos on the computer, which was rather easy to use do to my prior knowledge of DOS. its moniter is magnavox branded, which leads me to believe that MMG only manufactured PC's, but the moniters old and dusty. I think I'll clean and update it with freedos and opengem, add a vga card i have lying around, and get rid of it maybe on an ebay auction. :D

(keep in mind i'm quite young in my knowledge of computers.)

As long as you won't try to connect the vga card to the ega monitor, that would be a bad idea probably.
MMG sounds like some kind of clone system. Maybe you could post a picture? Maybe even from the inside?

yeah, it would be dumb to hook up a ega moniter to an vga card, but i have more vga moniters than i have ega or cga, so i thought i might try to get a vga card into it so i can use my vga moniter.

oh, speaking of vga, i went to this sale and got two original ibm ps/2 vga moniters, for FREE.

I'll get pictures soon, peace out!

I hate to burst your bubble, but in the 1.5 hours that elapsed between your two posts you did get a response.

You have a generic 'white box' PC. There are millions of them, and tens of thousands of different makers each with their own little silver stickers. If somebody can help you, they will - but don't get hung up on the number of views - it is irrelevant.

Well, as was mentioned, it is, given the vast number of store branded units, most likely some local clone (might not be local to you) and you have to wait until someone from the area where is was probably assembled by some standalone store reads the post.

We're good, but, I don't think anyone here keeps a list of every knock-off clone ever produced.

right, that inevitable did come to me, but i swear i saw the same brand of pc at another sale.

wonder if there was a way to add 3.5 floppy drive to the second bay, since i have seen these plastic holders that fit into a 5.25 bay to allow for a 3.5 floppy drive to go into the bay.

If you saw another PC locally, perhaps it was a local manufacturer or reseller who put their badge on the computers? Dig where you're standing, and all that.

Yes, it would be very dumb to get pumped up over some probably shut down business, though I think it would be interesting if there was a small site dedicated to images of many off-brand stickers on generic PC's, or something small like that. It would be interesting to find out exactly how many companies entered the PC business. After all, the PC was one of the most easiest to reproduce systems, and even a small company based in a barn could sell a PC with their own company label on it.
