Hello. I just registered after perusing this great forum for a few years now. I look forward to being a member.

Hi Tinkerer - 'the new guy'.

Come on in :)
If you've got a collection of any vintage machines - we're all ears and eyes.
If you've got questions, there's a lot of knowledgeable guys hereabouts to help.
If you've got answers, those are greedily accepted too.
Welcome.

Welcome to the forums.

Do you have any vintage computers, just interested in them or both? :)

OK, I posted most of my collection in "Your Vintage Computer Collections." And I am simply drooling over Tezza's collection. WOW:eek:

Ha!, my collection is TINY compared to what some of the guys here have. Where they get the room or the spousal tolerance from I'll never know! :)

It helps if you aren't married, widowed, or divorced. Collecting computers tends to be an un-understandable guy thing. :^) As any of the long-suffering wives will complain...

I've heard of wives being grateful that their husbands collected old computers...

In that they did that instead of having worse habits...

Welcome to the forums! It's always good to see a lurker come out of the shadows....I'll have to cruise on over to the thread about your collection and check it out.

Well luckily for me I am only 16 and thusly don't have a wife to restrict my collecting. Whenever I do marry, the lucky girl will already know about my collecting and will have thusly accepted it. Just in case though, I have a detailed plan about how everything I own belongs to my mother the day I get married...just in case. (go ahead, ask me about the plan)(of which is still in the works of being typed up, that way I have years(5-10?) to work out the kinks and add to it as I see fit before the final print years from now.)

Well, unfortunately Jack, as someone who has been what I call married, including children, 3 times, 13, 7, and 4 yrs. (cohabitations less than 2 years I don't call marriages) you're in for the same rude awakening we all go thru. When cupid does his hit you'll abandon your mother, ace your best friend, shoot your dog, and scrap you classic Buick. Computer collections taking up valuable space are the easy hit. You become a bit insane for a while in the heat of Rut. I've lost many friends that way, My condolences, but we all go thru it unless your a total cad. But as we all know computer collectors are incapable of being cads. I had it all planned out to not marry before 30. I fell to my supposed life companion at 25.

Oh by the way Tinkerer, welcome.
