Windows 3.1 printer driver/HP Laserjet 3100

I am seeking a printer driver for an HP laserjet 3100 printer/copier/scanner/fax that will enable it to work with Windows 3.1. I have tried to find this online without success. My stepfather uses the 486 SX33 to write letters with since he is paralyzed on one side from a stroke. Can anyone help me find this elusive driver? Please contact me. brendac1934@hotmail.com

Are you sure such a driver exists? That device is much newer than the Win31 era, so it's unlikely that HP released one for it.

No, it actually exists. There's a app-pack, and while I can get at the patches for it, I can't get at the actual base.
It even exists on the area that the inbred HP-Compaq company calls support.
The problem is that the server it links to is down. Has been down. Has it ever been up ?
I'm kinda torn between waiting for PeePaq to fix their site, and suggesting something like loading a basic PCL-5 driver into Win 3.1 and see how that goes.
Never thought I'd have to start archiving HP drivers.
But then I never thought I'd have to archive Future Domain drivers, either...

Lemme throw this out,OP, it sounds like it worked at some point, what happened ?
Win 95/98 will run on a 486, and I know there's drivers out there for that, how does OP feel about a platform switch ?

I doanloaded it but at 17mb its a bit large to email. The site description doesn't list Win 3.1 drivers but there is this in the txt file:

4.3 INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS: WINDOWS 3.1X

To install the software on Windows 3.1x:

1. To quit all open programs except Program Manager:
a. Press CTRL+ESC to display the Task List window.
b. Select a program to close.
c. Click End Task and press ENTER. The program closes.
d. Repeat steps a-c to close the other programs.

2. For the CD-ROM: Insert the CD-ROM into the CD-ROM drive
(usually D).

For floppy disks: Insert Disk 1 into the floppy disk drive
(usually A or B).

3. From the File menu in Program Manager, choose Run.

4. Type X:Setup, replacing "X" with the letter of your drive,
and click OK.

5. Follow the instructions on the screen. The setup takes a few
minutes. When it is complete, remove the CD-ROM or last
floppy disk.

Note: Windows 32-bit extensions (Win32s) are required. If
prompted to install Win32s and FreeCell, click OK and
continue to install these programs.

That's bizarre--FreeCell is a game, no? Why link it to fake-WinNT-support?

(I always installed Win32S from a supplemental programs set after I'd installed Win 3.1/WFWG 3.11).
