I am looking for a Vintage Database Program. I think I have settled on Dbase II or IBM Filing Assistant. Wound anyone have one a complete copy with all books and software?

I have a copy of DBase II, version 2.41 with all books and still-sealed 5.25" floppies as well as the on-disk tutorial package. Make me a good enough offer and I'll even toss in "Friday!" (Ashton-Tate's exclamation, not mine).

Also have Borland Paradox with endless updates. We never used it--the boxes and boxes of updates are sitting around unopened. Make an offer.

@Chuck: Is that v 2.41 for a PC? I always thought 2.41 was the last CP/M version and PC versions started with 2.43*

I see where some of those clever Germans disassembled the 8080 2.41, fixed it up and extended it and came up with a Z80 version 2.50; they really must have a lot of spare time over there...
;-)

Nope, it's DB II, v2.41 for PC-DOS/MS-DOS. Says so right on the first diskette that I can read through the still-sealed bag.

Golly, does this mean that it's rare? That I could put it up on eBay and get $1117.94 for it?

I'd really love to get rid of the boxes of (unopened) Paradox here, too...

Anyone need an unopened box of Peachtree Accounting? I do mean unopened--the shipping box still is taped shut with the packing slip intact.

I gotta get rid of some of this stuff. If I haven't used it by now, I'm not going to--ever.

Chuck, I would like to get both your DBASE and Peach Tree I sent a PM but no answer! Thanks Richard

I've got two copies of dBase IV (the buggy crap version) on like 20 install disks around here somewhere. The only thing is they're not genuine copies. I got them in a box of 5 1/4" floppies I picked up on freecycle. I'll probably fill them with C-64 demos :)

That's been remedied. Now, how to ship 50 lbs. of software...

Someone (I think it was Ciarcia) once said that the usefulness of a program is inversely proportional to the weight of it's documentation. (He must have been carrying a copy of QuatroPro at the time he thought of that gem of wisdom).

Hah, got boxes and boxes of that too. My wife prefers the DOS version to later ones (which had a bad case of creeping featuritis).

Me, I still use SuperCalc.
