In 2 weeks, my next payday, I'm going to need to purchase the following items. Not now, because I already have a previous commitment that will complete my "PC" systems. But in 2 weeks, I'm prepared to offer up to half my paycheck for the following items - but if it comes over that, it'll be purchased two weeks later. Please PM with items and requirements.

- An Apple IIe compatible SCSI hard drive interface.
- A Commodore VIC-20 with a 1581 3.5" floppy drive. Already have the other drives I need.

So long as they're complete and functional, all keys work, I'll be happy. Condition/appearance is secondary.

Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.

These will conclude my collection - I've only wanted computers that I know how to use.

The Commodore hard drive you refer to probably would be a 3rd party MSD design. Those go for quite a lot of money, so it may break your paycheck right away. The 1581 isn't cheap either, but enough common for you to find one. As a side note, the VIC-20 will take the same drives as the C128 does, so if functionality is your main target, you should be content with a 1571 or 1581 on the VIC. If you are buying as a collector though, you will want to look for a 1540 drive which also are quite rare and get pricy once they appear on the market.

Since the VIC does use them all, I modified the list. The hard drive I can do without. heh I just remember the school had one way back when, but it's not required. The reason for the 1541 is for when I'll be using both at the same time, so I don't have to switch.

But I'm getting them both for collecting and for use. Mid-life crisis and all that, wanting to relive the past. <grinz>

Hey Dreadstorm I might be able to hook you up on the C-128 Side. I have the C-128 with With the following manuals. Commodore 1571 users guide, Commodore 128 Introductory guide and finally the Commodore 128 system guide. 1571 Disk drive. And the serial cable to connect the C-128 to the 1571. Also a Parellel cable to serial cable I made up years ago to transfer programs to from a PC. As for condition both units are fully operational. I tested with the C-128 with the Tutor disk and CP/M 3.0 disks which will also be included. Cosmetically the C-128 has a lot of yellowing to it but only the C-128. The 1571 looks fine. I will be uploading pictures sometime later or tommorow so you can see what it looks like. My asking price will be very reasonable. Shipping costs I'm not sure of. PM me for C-128 and all accesories for my asking price. ;) The one thing that is missing is the A/V Cable. Not sure what happened to it:confused:

I look forward to it. But I have to say I just got a 1571 drive, so I'll use that for the VIC-20 when I get one, and I'll just keep yours together. I edited the list to reflect what I've accumulated so far in lieu of next payday.

My Vic-1540 is one that got the 1541 upgrade (and the new sticker.) A lot of folks I knew who had 1540s back when did that when their 1540 went in for its usual maintenance, making the 1540 even rarer.

Heck, mine is even on its third drive mech. :)

I saw an original 1540 on eBay, don't remember what the price was, but I remember moving on because it was too much. Went back this afternoon just to look, and someone got it on BIN. Disappeared. heh

Okay. Got everything, just about. Ended up with more than I thought in the process:
VIC-20, with tape, C16, with tape, Plus/4 (shares tape), C128 with 2 1571 drives and tape, TI-99/4a with tape, and ended up with a IIgs (complete minus HD) rather than a IIe. All in one paycheck.
All I need now is Apple II SCSI interface card.
