Springs needed for Atari 2600 original type game controllers. The game controllers are called CX40 there was an early and late version of the CX40. This used a total of 5 springs one fire button only spring and 4 other springs I have found the fire button spring for sale only. I am also looking for the circuit board and switches. Perhaps some springs from a hardware store might work even if not made for my purpose. I have found all but the other 4 springs however it would likely cost less on shipping to order all from the same supplier that I need. Please let me know where I can get what I am looking for, okay?
You may reply at this forum however if you click on my user name is the most dependable way to get in contact with me or you may reply both ways.

You're talking about the CX-10 not the CX-40. Do you actually have an original CX-10, because it sounds like you're just trying to piece one together by maybe modding a CX-40. You can't simply add springs and a pcb, the stick and base are constructed differently as well. The stick itself is a much heavy rubberized grip with an inlaid Atari logo, and like the sixer itself the casing is a heavier molded plastic. The inside of the case including the posts are different as well, as the PCB is supported and mounted differently (needing more room for the springs). The fire button is also thicker and more contoured, withe the molded hole accompanying this. The printing around the stick is of course different as well, with the absence of the word "top" as well.

Here's a pic of sixer joysticks with the inlay:

Here's a vid showing the differences:

It does resemble more what you call the heavy sixer CX10 joysitck of the brokenone of my 2 joysitcks it has a white board that the springs come in cotact with is the white board only on the CX10 heavy sixer? I also have another one that says the top on it however none of them say Atari on them could the print of worn off? In any event so far I have not been able to get the parts I need. Where can I get the parts I need I need the springs and the switches and what of the parts interchange if any with CX40s?

The type of controllers that I need 5 springs for are at the following URL it is stated they are form the Heavy Duty 6 Atari 2600 they appear to be like to CX10 however does not say Atari on the controller. I also have one CX40 that appears to need just the fire button spring. The URL is below for where they show the joystick controller version for the heavy duty 6 that looks like my version. I will look at vintage-computer.com however my controllers do not
have the Atari name on them at all and I was informed there is an
early and late version of the CX40 controllers however for each
version I only find the fire button spring. I have pictures of each
CX40 since mine does not say Atari on them it could not be the CX10 I
do not know of any parts interchange I did find a spring I cut in half
form Tacoma Screw in Seattle, WA that fits this when cut though will
need to be pressed down some what to reduce its pressure to keep the
switch in off position before pressed on and I am not yet sure if this
will work or what switched will interchange to this. The CX40 have
short non contoured sticks to control them and the only thing Iike
about them is no suction cups to hold them to a table for portable
easy to remove use. I have some other that other then the suction cups
when you do not want them are much nicer they are discontinued models
called the Radio Shack Archer 270-1701 which has 2 fire buttons I have
seen some that look externally other then the name to be the same by
Spectra Video/ Spectra Video however they have been out of business
for a long time I thought perhaps I could remove the suction cups and
place rubber non suction cup pads though I do not know how to remove
the suction cups. Sometimes I like the suction cups and some times I
do not depending on if using them in a long term place or not. The
Archer 270-1701 and the Spectra Video controllers are the nicest I
have seen for the Commodore C128 and Atari 2600. I also saw some new
CX40 for sale on the web for only $4.00 each though they have been
out of stock of them. If you do a goggle product search you can likely
see the 2 versions of the CX40 and the 270-1701 and the Spectra Video
(spelling?) have you seen them yet? I am surprised how Atari 2600 anbd Commodore computer equipment has gone up ibn price perhaps do now to rareness and desire to retry old things. What do you supect the cause is?

The name is on a name page that often lost it's adhesiveness and fell off. Regardless, the tip of the CX-10 joysticks as a hallowed out area for this inlay. CX-40's do not.

There were never any springs for the CX-40 stick part. If someone told you that, they are mistaken and were probably not aware that the earlier heavy sixer joysticks were CX-10's. Only the CX-10's had springs in the stick.

And you're not going to find replacement parts for the CX-10, they were only manufactured for a short while before switching over to the CX-40 - which is the main design used for the rest of the console's life. For the CX-40 you'll find plenty of replacement parts for at myatari.com and best-electronics-ca.com.

As I mentioned they do not interchange. The support molding and posts are different because the PCB for the CX-10's are spaced differently for the springs. Likewise the contacts are different as well for the same reason.

It's actually down from what it used to be.
