Hey Everyone

Here I have a 486 motherboard that I was given years ago, I'm having a hard time trying to find the model number of it. I have typed every visible number on the board into the net and I cannot find any manuals or information on it. Does anyone have any ideas on what it is?

Thankyou!

Hey
Thanks for your help!, I haven't managed to get it running yet because I didn't know what the processor jumpers are currently set to!

I'm checking out the link now, It looks pretty much identical. Hopefully the jumper settings are similar.

Download TH99 and look through the pictures of all the motherboards. I have done this two times when googling failed & both times I was actually able to find a match in TH99. Good luck!

That XLS lines up with all the jumpers pretty well, I'm really getting confused with the jumpers JP12,13,14,15,16,17,18 that are located between the 2nd Cache and top PCI slot
I'm installing a Intel DX4 - 100, I've got the voltage set at 3.3, And set most of the other jumpers. I'm also using two sticks of Kingston 1M X 36.

Also what slot should a PCI Graphic's card go into?, I'm confused with this one because of the older 486's with the IDE controller having to be put into the first slot etc. I'm guessing because the IDE controller is inbuilt it's the bottom PCI slot because the diagram says PCI1.

I've powered it up with just the LEDs and Speaker, Graphics Card, Ram, and Monitor connected, No Beeps or Posts.. Probably due to not having JP12,13,14,15,16,17,18 set.. I've got a GA-5486al rev.2a incase I can't get this board going, But the GA-5486al has a nasty battery leak that put battery acid over the bios socket, and a few caps.

I just done something silly, I messed around with my GA-5486AL, Cleaned the board and took the bios chip from the Terminator 486, and put it in the GA-5486AL (since the GA-5486AL has a dead bios). It actually works, It's says Terminator SMT486/5X86 PCI-22E SEP26, '95 ALI I\O ONLY. So I now know what the board is. Thankyou everyone for your help!

Hi All,

I am new here, i am 32yrs an from the netherlands, ive been a pc junk collector for some time now, and i am fairly positive i have the original manual from the terminator 486 board.
Btw i love the board, i wish i had one.

My guess is it ALI chipset uses EDO Ram also, so setup some EDO´s and a nice 100 or 120mhz 486 in it or am5x86.

If youre interrested i can dig it up?

I found the manual, but it says Terminator PCI 486 and uses Sis 496 chipset.

This could've been me lol.

Btw, I can't believe how tiny it is. Even the CPU socket was crammed on there with part of it overhanging!
