Good news our 8088 CPU board checked out fine. I am currently running it in a 21 slot S-100 system (with bus Active Termination, Godbout) at 11MHz. This is a great board for people that would like to move up to 16 bit systems since it allows you to run CPM-86 or MSDOS as groundwork for 8086,80286, 80386... systems. Please see here for more information:-

Hi!

There are still three of these great S-100 8088 CPU board PCBs left. The S-100 8088 CPU board makes a great starter board for your CP/M-86, QDOS, MS-DOS, or FreeDOS S-100 system!

They are $20 each plus $3 shipping in the US and $6 elsewhere. Please send a PayPal to LYNCHAJ@YAHOO.COM and I will send your PCBs right away!

Thanks and have a nice day!

What are the chances of using a NEC V-20 Chip wih it's 8080 emulation mode and running CP/M?

Hi
I have not tried that and I haven't heard anyone else try it either. However the V20 is drop in compatible with the 8088 so I suspect it would work. No one has written the CP/M CBIOS code for it so you'd have to write it. The V20 emulates the 8080 more or less so it would run *most* CP/M programs except those which use the features of the Z80. That's only few AFAIK.

There are still some S-100 8088 CPU board PCBs in case anyone is interested and would like to give it a try.

Thanks and have a nice day!
