WANTED: fully working 1541 disk drive, the one i got with my c64 is botchy

hey guys im just wondering if theres anyone in Australia that has a fully working 1541 disk drive to give away for free? i need one for my c64 to play disk games
 
Sorry, your location comes up as A,A, so unless that stands for Aardvark in Australia, we missed it.
Do you want to try troubleshooting/repairing the 1541 ? If you could narrow it down to a PCB, that'd be a whole heck of a lot cheaper to ship than a complete 1541.

Not to be politically incorrect, or racist, or anything, but why is it the Chinese always manage to ship stuff anywhere cheap ? I've had heatsinks shipped from China for less than I could ship them to Ohio.

The China government do a big help into shipping costs,and I think that also there's the slave work (I have no proof of that, but I do believe in this).

Does this symptom occur as soon as power is applied to the drive, before you try to load/save anything to the drive? If memory serves, the flashing LED could indicate RAM/ROM issue early on in the power up sequence.
