Apple IIe

The URL you provided didn't work for me. I had to do a search on the shopgoodwill.com site for the apple IIe. It looks nice but the serial number tag seems suspect in that the S/N is hand written in ball point. Weird.

A very early //e, handwritten serial number under 10000. It has been enhanced, so it's not quite original. Still worth collecting, though.

So they sold everything separately, including the Enhancement kit with the original ROMs inside the packaging. I asked a lot of questions, but they didn't answer all of them. So I have my fingers crossed. I won all the auctions at a phenomenal price, in my opinion. Early revision Apple //e, monitor stand, and System Saver... everything with original boxes. $112 + $39 shipping. I then also won the auction for the two Disk ][ drives, also with their boxes, for $13 + $39 shipping. A boxed Monitor III for $12 + $39 shipping. And finally, the Enhancement Kit with the Apple II's original ROMs and a bunch of software for $11 + $20 shipping.

Since I won all the auctions, I'm going to give them a call tomorrow and see if they can't package them all together and save me a bunch on the shipping & handling.

Anyway, I'm stoked! I can't wait! Thanks Kipp for the tip!

I just glad it worked out for someone who would appreciate it. The goodwill auction site gets a few such old computers every few months and it's a good cause, unlike the other auction site.

Outstanding! Those are terrific prices for all you got. Congratulations.

This looks to be exactly the same machine I had as a kid, an upgraded IIe, although we eventually had a color monitor with a duodrive. Trying not to get my hopes up too high. I've bought quite a few Apple IIs in the past hoping to get just the right one, and have been disappointed every time.

Hope it all works out for you. The Duodisk won't look correct with the Monitor /// and stand, unfortunately. But the Disk ][s are period correct to this //e, and so is the monitor.

I thought about bidding on it, but I already have an early //e, and I don't need another for the collection. Mine is unenhanced, boots up to "Apple ][" just like it should.

I did just finish a Ramworks / Ramworks II / Ramworks III collection (just the base cards), complete with 512k expander on the Ramworks (for 1 meg) and 2 meg expander for the Ramworks III. Now I just need to figure out what to use a 3 megabyte Apple IIe for. I might consider running an Internet connected BBS from RAMDISK on it... using a Rasberry PI as a terminal server. I have a four port USB to serial for the Pi... with two super serial cards, I might even be able to make a multi-line BBS out of it.

I have an Apple Color Monitor IIe that came with my Platinum IIe that I bought some years ago, so I plan on using that. :) I got the green screen because it was too good of a deal to pass up, and I think I'll bundle it with my Platinum IIe so whoever buys it will have a complete system.

I have a Ramworks II as well, with box and manuals, and a ColorPrism card. I'm hoping to find a ColorLink card, though. In any event, I got one of my junker Apple IIs up on a VGA LCD screen using a CGA to VGA converter. I also got my IIgs up on a VGA LCD. It's pretty cool. Since my IIgs' monitor died a very annoying high pitched death, I'm thinking of taking the screen guts out of the monitor and putting in an LCD screen. Mount the CGA converter in there, and now I have a perfectly quiet screen.

For shits and giggles (mostly giggles!), I'm thinking of installing a tiny color LCD in one of those tiny IIc screens. :D
