Trying to identify Unisys Laptop

Growing up I was given a Unisys laptop as my first PC. It was a great machine, but sadly discarded as it became obsolete. I would love to try and identify the model and locate one, but I have no idea what model it was and can't find anything online that looks anything like it.

I was wondering if someone here may have knowledge these and can help me identify it from these details:

  • Unisys branded.
  • Purchased in Germany sometime around 1992 - 1993.
  • 486 processor (DX I think), 4 MB RAM, which was later upgraded to 8 MB.
  • It came with Windows for Workgroups 3.1 but I was able to upgrade it to Windows 95 when it was released (after a RAM upgrade).
  • It was medium grey in colour.
  • It had a completely rubberised wrist pad, which became slightly floppy / loose over time, especially when it was hot.
  • It had a black track ball, smaller than the size of a typical marble. Left click was a larger banana shaped button above track ball and right click was a smaller rectangular button below the ball, on the edge of the unit. The buttons were underneath the rubberised sheet that covered the wristpad.
  • I believe it had a 640x480 display (maybe 800x600), not TFT, probably around 10 - 11 inches. I think there were brightness / contrast buttons on the screen bezel.
  • It had a centrally positioned latch lid whch protruded from the top of the screen when open.

I can't really find any information about Unisys laptops of that era online, so I am wondering if it was just rebranded Unisys for the German market at that time.

Any ideas?

Cheers,

Found it!

So it's not a Unisys, it's an Olivetti! The Echos 44 to be specific.

I think I had it in my mind as a Unisys because the company my father worked for at the time had a Unisys contract, and I think it was purchased via them at a discount compared to retail.

Amazing about the colour - I do not remember it being that strange sand colour - in my memory, it is grey. Interesting to read about it now - it was designed by well known Italian designer Michele De Lucchi, and the unusual colour is considered one of its defining features.
