Well, yes... I could. But I wouldn't, since I'm a collector. You could also just send the disks only.Hey, you can throw the box and manuals from this set away if you want. Once it's yours you're free to do whatever you like with it.
Yes, I know. 4.01 was only ever written on the disk label - it's not visible anywhere else. IBM replaced the buggy 4.00 disks without making a great fuss about it.FWIW, these disks are labeled Version 4.01 but report Version 4.00 when queried.
What??? And ruin a perfectly good set? Are you nuts???You could also just send the disks only.
Sorry, but I don't get it. What does your answer refer to? The attached picture shows "4.00" everywhere, which is just what I said. When 4.01 was done, IBM kept selling it as 4.00, with only the updated disk inside. The buyer wouldn't see until opening the package. No they didn't. Some OEMs even put it in Rom on some systems.
I was referring to your comment about IBM not making a big fuss.....................well outwardly anyway. Behind the scenes it was panic stations to get 4.0 sorted out and by then the damage had been done in the market place.Sorry, but I don't get it. What does your answer refer to? That's the point, I guess.Behind the scenes it was panic stations to get 4.0 sorted out and by then the damage had been done in the market place.
I still have the disks.Still searching, btw. :D
Unfortunately not. What are you asking for for the whole package? I fear that shipping the whole package from the US to Germany is much, much more expensive than shipping the disks only would be, however.I still have the disks.
Don't you know somebody who has the disks and needs the rest of the crap?
Shipping is ~ $25 - $30. Just the disks would be under $10. Maybe ~ $5.
