I Bought two toshiba t1200 laptop about 5 years ago and i took them apart about 3 years ago and was restoring and taking the best parts to make one best unit.
Anyways other things came up and I pretty much put them away for 3 years most of the time sitting in my tool cart and then later sitting in a tote for a year in my computer work room. Today i decided to come back to it and I just cant figure out why and cant get a post. I don't get any power it seems like all the cables are plugged in and the power cord i changed the power supply inside the laptop but it did not do anything so i read something about the external power supply going bad the only problem is that i dont have more than on cord i lost the other one. I decided to look on ebay for another t1200 the only problem is that none of them have a power supply so i am stumped any help is appreciated im not very good with pcs this old Im used to 90s stuff because my old pc is a dell from 1992.will add pictures sometime tomorrow

Bumping for interest

I have a T1000SE. This one has a somewhat strange round power connector, but the chinese fellows make some laptop PSUs with connector kits that have it. I can't get mine to do anything but light up the red power LED, though.

I'd try with the aforementioned generic power supply.

According to the list at [here], there are six different models of Toshiba T1200.
According to the list at [here], the T1200XE is significantly different to the others.

According to the list at [here], the Toshiba part number for the power supply is PA7485U, although, it is not clear if the same power supply is used for the T1200XE.

A couple of maintenance manuals are at [here].

I'm not sure what t1200 it is all I know is that they are both white and say t1200 on top

I highly advise against purchasing or using any cheap Chinese garbage power supply. They're extremely dangerous to even plug in, let alone power anything with them.

If you see a power adapter that costs less than $15 on Amazon/Ebay/newegg or anywhere else, it's almost 100% certain it's fake. Other telltale signs are "REPLACEMENT AC ADAPTER" written in big letters on some side of it, it being so light that a piece of paper would launch it into orbit on a scale and the plastic and rubber feeling very cheap and thin.

If you can't find a genuine power adapter for it, I'd recommend getting something like an Xbox 360 power supply and using a buck/boost converter to get the output you need.

From what I am seeing on the Internet, the T1200XE has "T1200XE" on top, and the T1200F/FB/H/HB models just have "T1200".

A breakdown of the T1200F/FB/H/HB models is as follows:

T1200F : One 720K 3.5" diskette drive, no hard drive
T1200FB: Same as T1200F except that it has a backlit display
T1200H : One 720K 3.5" diskette drive, and 20 MB hard drive
T1200HB: Same as T1200H except that it has a backlit display

The document at [here] indicates that the T1200F/FB/H/HB models use the same power supply, either PA7485U or PA7487U.
