Sound Blaster Creative Music System CMS C/MS Game Blaster Upgrade

To help out vintage / classic / retro gamers / sound card enthusiast out there I have procured Philips SAA1099P chips and a modern programmed GAL.

Each package:
2 Philips SAA1099P chips
1 GAL that is programmed to facilitate Game Blaster / CMS compatibility

For this upgrade to work you need to make sure:
1) Your Sound Blaster CT1350 does not have a CT1336A bus interface chip.
2) Your Sound Blaster CT1320 should already have the PAL chip installed. You only need the Philips SAA1099P chips.
2) Many DSP V2.02 Sound Blaster CT1350 cards were paired with the CT1336A.

Beware of static electricity when installing these chips.

I am selling these "as is" due to the hobbyist nature of this combination and skill required by user.

More information: http://nerdlypleasures.blogspot.com/2013/06/the-sound-blaster-20-and-cms-upgrade.html.

Price: 2X Philips & 1X GAL: $ 17.50 including shipping within US. Outside US will be extra.

I paid for the chips and shipping from CN (Philips) and AU (GAL) respectively already (not cheap). :D

Inventory:
2X GAL
1X 2X Philips

Someone on DOS-Forum.de noted that you need a -5V PSU to have clear sound. Those are pretty common so hopefully that is not an issue.

ATI Stereo F/X card is also upgradeable with these Philips chips (no GAL is needed).

Sold!

There are now only 2 GAL chips left. No SAA1099P chips left.

Hi there,
I'm brand new here. I found this place because I was looking for GAL chips for a SB 2.0 but all things considered I might stay. Anyway I can see this thread sold out two years ago - but I was wondering if you would consider doing another batch or even just doing one for me? I'd attempt it myself but even the most baby level programming is waaaay out of my wheelhouse and I don't super want to buy equipment I'm going to use literally one time. I'd be eternally grateful / obviously I would pay you cash money..

Do you have a programmer? If you do, our own Chuck(G) made the GAL files available on this site for free. You can buy GALs cheap off of eBay. Of course if you don't have a programmer then buying it may be the only option.

I don't have a programmer, and to be honest I don't especially want to buy one when I will literally only use it one time. Furthermore I'm terrible at that kind of thing. I also don't solder or anything like that, which I would love *to* be able to. But I'm just too clumsy and I always get that kind of thing wrong. I can barely make an autoexec for dos work. So I ended getting my consoles modded by videogameperfection or gametechUS, that sort of thing. I'd rather save the money and do it for myself but I just think it's important to know what's in your wheelhouse and what - well - ain't.

Luckily for me Keropi on vogons agreed to progam a GAL for me, so I'm all good now.

Thanks for the replies though.

I WOULD ALSO BE INTERESTED IN 3 OF THE GAL CHIPS, I'VE ALREADY GOTTEN THE SAA1099'S PLEASE CONSIDER GETTING SOME MORE!!!
