This machine was given to me as a gift. I've never seen it working.
Currently the only peripherals attached to it are an LK201 and VR201 monochrome monitor. The 3.6v rechargeable battery pack has been replaced with a fresh set of cells scavenged from a new cordless phone battery. Right now however when you power it up the machine seems to stop with the 000020 and 000023 error codes which according to here indicate a problem with the CT100 speaker control and the CT100 Date/Time clock, the latter presumably needing to be reset. Nothing seems to let me go any further. The boards in the card cage have all been removed and reseated. Not sure how to proceed from here.

I have a 350 but it was probably 20 years since I turned it on last time. But you mentioning batteries worries me. Need to pull it a part to remove that battery. Then I need to do something with the screen since it had got the screen mould problem. What I do remember, unrelated to your problem, is that it was easy to expand the memory on the 350. What I did back then was to replace all chips on the small daughter card modules. From 64 k chips to 256 k chips. Worked fine!

Are all technical documents available online? I have a copy of a quite detailed technical manual somewhere.

I also have a PRO-350 and have not powered it in many years. Someday, I will create a license key for this system and install Venix, or maybe 2.9BSD. I should make sure that the batteries are not leaking.

Bitsavers has a piece on the Rainbow 100 but that's it. It seems there's such a lack of interest on the Pro series that it's a documentation black hole. That isn't really all that great for anyone else who might want to give the machine a go.
The battery is on the back of the machine. You can clearly see it when you take the top off. Mine was some 30 years old as well but didn't show signs of leaking. It just wouldn't hold a charge anymore.

I think I found the document that I have a photocopy of. It was on bitsavers actually. When looking into it some memories are getting back to me. The printer port is also the console port and uses the standard addresses for a PDP-11 console so you could an ODT prompt there if you like!

Mine had P/OS v2.0 installed when I bought it quite cheap around 1987 together with a LA100 printer. I later installed P/OS v3.2. I used it for writing reports in school. I remember that P/OS was a quite weird variant of RSX11-M somehow. If I am lucky the old 32 Mbyte RD52 is alive (and still contain that old report).

It was under /PDP-11? FFs. Alright, give me some time to read this over.

Okay, so a quick scan indicates that...
-The four LED's being lit is a system module failure (how specific) It's mentioned on page 90.
-Indeed, plugging a serial terminal into the printer port will yield an ODT maintenance mode. Pins 8 and 9 however need to be shorted together. This is mentioned on page 65.
-The speaker circuit seems to be exclusive to the LK201. Don't know why the machine refers to the CT100. The circuit is described on page 209.
-The RTC can apparently be reprogrammed from ODT. It's mentioned on pages 169-171 and no, this ain't Y2K compliant. ;)

Beyond that however the manual keep to bare metal stuff and doesn't actually give any more details on the errors or HOW they can be corrected. Please tell me there's a more user friendly way to reset the date and time outside of ODT.

There is a tiny bit more information in EK-PC300-V1-001_pro300tecV1.pdf on page 456. Error 23 can be broken down to:
-Clock did not interrupt in proper time
-Unexpected interrupt or trap occurred during clock testing

...however that could simply be the uninitialized RTC freaking out.
