I got an SE/30 for a good deal and it worked when I first got it. After it sat for a couple months I started having issues. It powers on, but I get absolutely nothing on the CRT. No glow on the screen and I do not see a glow on the tube with the halves pulled apart and power it on. I am not sure if it has something to do with the power supply or the tube itself? Can I swap a regular SE power supply for the SE/30? Or for that matter, the screen if required?

Do you still get chimes when you power it on? Power supply of SE is not compatible (form factor wise, it might be electrically, not sure on that), however the CRT would be compatible, all the B&W compact Macs use interchangeable tubes. I would think a SE/30 power supply would be easier go find than the logic board, so many logic boards get destroyed by exploded batteries and leaking capacitors.

check the solder around where the monitor is wired into the board, they tend to be slightly short on the compact mac's and heat cycling causes cracking of the joints
