New Amiga Haul... Almost Immediately Broke Down in front of me...

Is it possible I'm misconceiving the point of what I'm doing here. I just want a higher resolution display. But I think the issue here is I'm outputting to 15khz and that's too low for vga monitors; meaning that realistically am I trying to output the same quality as the A520 is giving me? [anyway - in which case there is no point to this without a scan doubler...?]

without a scan doubler, 99% of VGA monitors won't be able to sync, because of the 15kHz horizontal. The A2320 mentioned before can do this (and can also deinterlace the output, or not), but as I said before, the circuit posted before won't do this... it will buffer the vsync and hsync only.

Okay I misunderstood; sorry. At amiga.org some guy explained that the fact that I get max 16 colors is a chip RAM DMA bandwidth issue. Can you explain what he means?

That is the technical reason why the hardware can't do more than 16 colours in Hi-res modes.

You can do 32 colours in Lo-res: "Extra halfbrite", and 4096 in "HAM"

Where did you find it? All the links I find are in the EU.
Heh, I got it from Europe. :) When I was in England in 2014, I ordered it from Amazon.co.uk and had it delivered to where I was staying. Then I packed the boxed monitor into my large suitcase and brought it back to the U.S.

It's such a great monitor that I'm considering in buying another (if it's still available) when I return to the U.K. in 2017.
