I have been an Electronics Engineer for more than 40 years where I worked first as an Engineering clerk for an underground coal mine equipment manufacturer and ended up as lead Engineer in equipment and software changes associated with the AEGIS project for Naval Surface Warfare Center in Dahlgren, Va., where I retired in 2017. My education includes Master of Science in Electrical Engineering in 1996 and Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering in 1981 both from West Virginia University. In addition, I acquired a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Technology in 1973 from Fairmont State College (now, university). I have worked on IBM 1401/360/370 and UNISYS 1100/84 main frames; micros include AT&T, AN/UYK-43, IBM, Sun, Micron, HP, VME, DEC, and Concurrent single desktop to multi-blade machines; operating systems MSDOS and Windows, UNIX which includes Solaris, HP UX, and Linux; and languages BASIC, C/C++, JAVA, FORTRAN, HTML, PERL, and BASH scripts. I taught a class at Fairmont State College during my graduate studies in Alternating and Direct Current Machines. Since my retirement, I have returned to basics to retain what I have learned and seek assistance when confused.
