    Apple II+ character ROM

Thanks for the tip, but I believe Reactivemicro is based in the US, and I am in Europe (Netherlands). So the shipping cost and import cost will result in a grand total of about €100 to €150. So I want to try the EPROM adapter, if that doesn't work then I will buy an original 2513. But still...

    Apple II+ character ROM

I have attached some photos of the Apple ][+ Isn't made in the USA, and the label just says "Apple ][ plus" not "Apple ][ europlus". And the power supply is a 230v only model. So I'm not sure what happened to this Apple II, maybe it was made in the US and adapted for the European market before...

    Apple II+ character ROM

Hi everyone, Yesterday I bought an Apple II plus, it is a European model, but the label is for a regular plus, not the europlus. Possibly an early model? But unfortunately, it is missing the character ROM. It is a rev 4 board, so it uses a 2513 ROM instead of a 2716 like in later models. I...

    Commodore 1081 monitor dim image

I have removed C214, and it was shorted, Replacing it with a new 100uF cap fixed the issue :D Thank you all so much for your help! I'm really happy to have my 1081 working again.

    Commodore 1081 monitor dim image

OK, I have measured some things you have mentioned, this is what I found. -Pin 11 TDA3505, switches between ~2,1v and 0v, this is the same as on the schematic, so I think this part is working correctly. - +11 is about 11 volts, so this should be fine - +11A: Nothing 0 volts... - +11B: Nothing...

    Commodore 1081 monitor dim image

I have measured a few more things on the monitor. The R, G and B signals seem to be OK, then they go from the scart connector through a few transistors and passive components. The signals do all have lower voltages after these transistors (about 4 or 5 volts), I believe this is fine. Then the...

    Commodore 1081 monitor dim image

The 1081 does have an RGB/CVBS switch, when it is in CVBS mode I get the faint kickstart hand, and when it is in RGB mode I get a white screen with nothing on it. The white screen is also there when the scart cable is disconnected or the Amiga is off. Could that mean that the R, G and B...

    Commodore 1081 monitor dim image

Hi everyone, Today I purchased a very clean looking Commodore 1081 monitor, but it doesn't seem to work properly... I tried connecting my amiga 500 to the scart connector and there does seem to be an image (kickstart hand), but it is very dim. (see attached photo) So I tried a different...

Commodore PET 3032 fast vertical sync.

I think there was a bad connection when testing 0010 0000, this now results in a blank screen. 0100 0000 is showing those lines, so they should be working too And 0010 0001 results in an "!" character. In that case, everything after the Vram chips could be fine. I could redo the test with...

Commodore PET 3032 fast vertical sync.

    OK, I have tried the bits you have sent, unfortunately I couldn't find your post with the corresponding characters. 0000 0000 @ 0000 0001 A 0000 0010 B 0000 0100 D 0000 1000 H 0001 0000 P 0010 0000 Unstable signal, Snow screen, sometimes there are character, but they disappear quickly. 0100...

Commodore PET 3032 fast vertical sync.

Oke I thought 10K would be fine, but it does seem to be much, I have replaced them with 820ohm (The closes I have to 1k ohm), and with all of them connector to 0v the screen is filled with @. when I connect it to my previous $22 I get a ". This seems to be correct. It's a character that wasn't...

Commodore PET 3032 fast vertical sync.

OK,I'm not that good with hex and binary values, so I hope I have connected it right. I have everything connected for $22 (0010 0010) which should give an exclamation mark "!", but instead I'm a getting a petscii character, the same I was getting with all the data pins connected to +5v ($FF or...

Commodore PET 3032 fast vertical sync.

I think I understand what you mean, I have connected all the data pins to +5v via 10k resistors (I don't have any 1k resistors in stock atm, but I think it should be ok for pullup resistors) and I'm seeing a screen full of the same petscii character. I'm not sure if this character is displayed...

Commodore PET 3032 fast vertical sync.

hmmm, I didn't notice that I had different characterroms, I have replaced the one from the defective board with a spare German characterrom, so they are now both using the same rom. The characterrom , both videorams and G10 are in sockets, the rest is unfortunately soldered to the board. I...

Commodore PET 3032 fast vertical sync.

I know using a working computer as a chip tester isn't the best way to do repairs, but I don't know what else to do because a lot of the signals I measure between the two pet seem to be different. I think something may be wrong with my scope, so I don't really trust those measurements of...
