I don't know if the motor (circled) is too tired or what but if I disconnect the part (from location X) which connects sections marked 1 and 2 then the motor is able to move the mechanism all the way down and set the lever on the right to a position which actually allows you to insert disc. It...
It seems like at least the white lever mechanism should work differently.
Normally when you insert a disc it should resist very slightly and after you push the disc far enough the drive should continue from there. With this drive the lever moves freely when the drive is in "disc inserted" mode...
I'll try to disassemble this again some day when I have energy and see if I can come up with a fix for that hinge again. I don't remember checking CMOS battery at all the last time even though I should, I was just focused on the hinges.
You can use those pictures.
I think this one laptop I have is from CTX EzBook 700 series, there is a sticker by now defunct company and maybe under it would be or would have been CTX sticker.
This laptop has Pentium MMX 200MHz CPU inside but it has been downclocked to 166MHz, I haven't tried changing settings even though...
I just got PowerBook G4 laptop with UJ-825C and it had disc stuck inside. Ejecting the disc was not possible, the drive tried but failed.
Now I have taken the machine apart and removed the drive from it. I opened the drive and removed the disc and noticed that the drive will get confused...
Well, I went ahead and flashed using bios with filename "ES675M-9.BIN" and at least the board powers on like before except that now it recognizes the CPU correctly.
Picture of model sticker attached.
I have Chaintech ES-675M motherboard with Celeron 2.2GHz which the board apparently cannot recognize properly since it claims that it is Pentium 4 and has no cache at all.
I found some bios downloads but couple different "revisions" are mentioned and I don't know what revision my board is...
On another forum they suggested removing cpu ans measuring resistance from motherboard screw hole (ground) the ground of those mosfets which don't show anything. I measured all 4 and those which don't show voltage have 32.5 resistance. I filmed video, camera wasn'g aligned he best way:
in the...
Update: Replacement caps for Yageo and Chemi-cons are installed but nothing changed. The 2 mosfets and 4 caps (formerly Chemis) surroundinh the cpu socket show 0V.
OK, the whole display assembly, keyboard, floppy drive and hard disk have been sold, I have pretty much what can be seen in the picture, maybe some screws etc more but that's pretty much it.
I measured mosfets by using screw hole pad as ground, the two left ones in earlier photo I posted show 5V on the center pin and nothing on others, the two right mosfets don't show anything.
In the photo attached this message the three Yageo caps show 5V while 4 Chemicons show 0V. Two caps...
So I have MSI K7T PRO2 which had several bad capacitor mainly by Tayeh so I have replaced them and others except for the bigger caps around the CPU (Yageo ja Chemi-Con) since I don't have replacements yet, I have removed and tested them individually and they are apparently fine.
The board does...
