Picture of the internal frame for the SX-64

That makes sense. If you are interested, here is the thread where I'm restoring my SX-64... https://forums.atariage.com/topic/357683-restoring-a-commodore-sx-64/

Picture of the internal frame for the SX-64

It is only for educational use, no profit involved. :) I did notice in the image that it's missing a big piece of the machine, the power supply. And how are they powering the CRT with no power connection? Thanks again for the image, it shows all of the differences I wanted to show.

Awesome, that is perfect, can I use it as an example? Jason

Picture of the internal frame for the SX-64

I did find one image on the OldSilicon.com website. Although it doesn't show the entire frame, you can see how the floppy drive and the storage area are mounted differently than my SX-64.

I thought I would add in a picture of my SX-64's frame...

Picture of the internal frame for the SX-64

I have been restoring a SX-64 and found that mine is a later version of the computer (built in early 84). There are some refinements made to the internal frame of the machine, to allow easier access to the floppy, etc. I wanted to show the differences between this version and the earlier...

Value of brand new, unopened Commodore PET 2001-8N found in basement

For me it's about the completeness of the nostalgia. All of the ephemera is part of the experience of the machine and forms a large part of my memories. When I show other people the computer it helps to also show how they would have gotten one new and in box. My 2 cents anyway. :)

Using machines as they were vs. with modern "upgrades"

In the end, we might not have a choice. Many of the IC chips made back in the day used a chemistry that is slowly breaking down and causing these chips to fail (even the ones that are just sitting in a box). Our only fix is to use modern replacements when the working originals are no longer...

    Any Harris H-series software?

Hah, I don't have any software, but I did learn to program C on a Harris 800 in collage (must have been around 1987?). :)

Commodore 64 can't boot up, Is this mean 6510 failed?

I would suspect the PLA before anything else, especially if you have replaced the ram. The diagnostics cart replaces the ROMs but it can't replace the PLA. If it's not the PLA then start looking at the logic chips. There are several reasonably priced modern PLA replacements that work well...

    TRS-80 Coco model 1 repair Model 26-3002

I'm not sure, but I assume that they tested them. They would need 8 of the same type for it to work. I did test mine and changing the jumper didn't do anything, so I think I must have the fully good chips?

    TRS-80 Coco model 1 repair Model 26-3002

That is looking good. The high/low jumper is for the 32K model, the early ones had 64Kbit memory with either high address or low address bad memory. The jumper was used to select which address space to use. The later ones had all good memory and there were some hacks to up the total memory to...

    TRS-80 Coco model 1 repair Model 26-3002

That is great, you got it working!! :) Judging by the date codes it looks like you have a fairly early example there, very early 81. I don't have an extra keyboard unfortunately and I haven't had much luck finding any. Mine works for the most part (some damaged and sticky keys) and is the...

    Ethical vs. unethical system restoration?

For me it's all about what you want out of this hobby. Personally I like to have the system as original as possible, even including the box and ephemera. I want to have the same experience as when the system came out and you opened the box to see the it for the first time. This is my choice...
