Here you can at least download the image of BASIC-86 v5.21 for the SCP system: https://winworldpc.com/download/7d39c2a3-37c5-9273-11c3-a5c28f135254 but I was
also not able to find a User Manual for it.
I think you need to boot the disk in the simh (https://github.com/simh/simh) Altair Z80...
For those who are interested, there is another way to solve this problem:
use 86Box (x86 Emulation), add a harddrive and set it to a maximum of 504MB (PreSet selection), insert the boot image of FreeDos and let the OS take care of partitioning and formatting,
install everything and use the...
When I try to create a basic FreeDOS system on my CompactFlash (CF) Disk Rufus is not able to create it correctly for my NP-903 (386SX) system:
either I got
"missing operating system"
or when I check "Use Fix for older BIOS" => "FreeDOS" and no progress
(both with FAT)
How can I manage to...
Thank you but it‘s a HT21 not HT12.
It was just an idea to provide some files to the community. If it is too hard to accomplish my goal maybe someone else can do it.
Thank you. So I could make a ROM dump of the Basic, the Video Card (Chips&Technologies 82C456) and the Floppy/IDE Controller (Acer M5105)?!
Just want to recreate my machine for the 86Box emulator.
Thank you. I have an EPROM programmer at hand, so reading the BIOS is not a problem, but I don't have an adapter for the Headland HT21 (QFP208). So in fact I could try to read the contents by the command Debug on FreeDOS?!
Another reason why I want to read the content is to provide them to the...
Is there a method how to dump the content of the rom's from a e.g. 386SX laptop (Walkom NP-903 clone of a NoteStar NP-903)?
Mainboard:
Especially the chipset (Headland HT21) which is in a QFP 208. Do I need to desolder the chip and
use a testsocket for that to dump the content or is there...
The mistery is solved: the rest of the mainboard with Dallas chip was hidden under the case ;-)
(will replace it with a nwX287 by Necroware)
But still have no information about Walkom or this model.
Here is a picture of the RAM chip:
@Ruud Could be, but this Acer chip is a Multi-Controller for IDE, Floppy, ISA ... and I don't think it is connected to an Acer brand.
The weird thing is that there are no records about Walcom at all.
