Hi all, Where are some of the best places and sources to find vintage computers at other than eBay, Craigslist and other online auctions and classifieds? Sometimes I just don't want to mess around with those kinds of sites. Thanks
Hi, I'm thinking of possibly getting a vintage stand-alone electronic word processor, what are some of the better makes and models from the 1980's, 1990's and into the 2000's?
Making a list of games I'd like to try is a good idea. I was initially thinking in terms of 2D and isometric overhead view role playing games. Not so much true 3D games which showed up more and more in the late 90's (which would probably require it's own separate, dedicated machine.)
Hi,
I'm thinking of possibly building or getting a vintage IBM PC/clone/descendant just for playing 1980's and/or 1990's game titles. If I did, would I be best off building or getting a separate machine to just cover the 80's and a separate one just to cover the 90's, or is it possible to...
Has anyone tried to use FreeDOS, OpenGEM or FreeGEM operating systems on vintage hardware? If so, what kind of experience did you have? What can't you do with them that you can do with MS-DOS or Windows for example?
Thanks
Hi,
Concerning hardware, what were (and are) some extremely common, popular and widespread MS-DOS compatible PC's and clones, both well-known brand names and generic no-name knock-off makes, models and specification configurations through out the 1980's and 1990's? This question would...
What exactly does the category description "8088 to 286" mean? Surely there's other processors that could be lumped in there to. I can think of one more, the 8086, for example.
Thanks
Hi,
I'm trying to learn more about Tandy Radio Shack's vintage computers. What were some of the most abundant, numerous, common and widespread models back in the day used in both home and business settings?
Thank you
How many different titles of monthly published magazines did Tandy Radio Shack computers have devoted to them back in the day and what years did they run? Also, are they still worth seeking out today for 'retro computing' purposes? Which one's were the best?
Thank you
