Restoring my AT and found that I have one bad stacked RAM chip. Had 512K, so I pulled all the chips from the second bank where the error was reported. Successful count to 256K. SO I swapped the second bank, 3 at a time, and narrowed it down to just one bad stacked chip. I tried googling but...

I know this is a late reply, but I can confirm that this is a problem. I have an identical setup with a Type 1 motherboard that did have 512K onboard, but it would error in the second bank. I pulled the second bank of stacked ram, set J18 to 256K mode, and then it was happy and counted...

I know this thread is old, but I too am looking for the 1" punched paper tape rolls for my ASR33. Any leads accepted!
