Correct CP/M interpreters for infocom games across different CP/M computers

Great! Please let me know how you go. I'm keen to keep improving it. If you get a chance to snap a photo of a machine running something it couldn't before, I would love to have a copy.

Correct CP/M interpreters for infocom games across different CP/M computers

Hi Verault - sorry if I'm a bit late to the party, but there's 2 things I'd like to share with you. 1. I've written my own Infocom Interpreter that allows for many of the later games to run on CP/M for a variety of the more popular terminal options. You can get it from...

Looking for all Infocom Adventures for CP/M

That's fantastic! Let me know if you run into any issues and I'll take a look. I would love a photo of the Zorba running a z4 (plus series) or z5 game such as Nord & Bert if you can?

    Running TRSDOS on Z180 & eZ80

Thanks Daniel! For those who don't Facebook... the Agon boot loader, allowing TRS-OS to be loaded on the Agon Light hardware (available from multiple vendors) can be downloaded from my Agon projects page under OSboot. Click here for a direct link which includes some further detail and...

Looking for all Infocom Adventures for CP/M

Based on that I would suggest the best one to try for your Zeta will be ` vezza-CC.com - 80x24 RunCPM VT100 with colour` as that one uses ANSI terminal codes with the added bonus of colour. The only challenge might be that it also assumes a large TPA so do let me know how you go. Would be great...

Looking for all Infocom Adventures for CP/M

Thanks @ajacocks !! For a model 4P I would recommend my other project which shares the same optimised core - M4ZVM - I have both 64k and 128k versions available. The 128k version takes advantage of the upper memory and allows for a broader range of games to be played. Let me know if you have any...

Looking for all Infocom Adventures for CP/M

Thank you! I would need to know more about your Zeta to understand the best option - let me know how you connect to it? What kind of terminal do you use? e.g. linux terminal with VT100 support? The challenge with z5 is to get the most from it, you need to have significant control of the screen...

Looking for all Infocom Adventures for CP/M

Interesting idea. I've seen a few cut down versions of fweep. Does yours support the status lines, highlighting and all versions from the one binary? I'm interested because it may solve another use case. Virtualising the DynMEM is certainly an option, however, performance on vintage hardware...

Looking for all Infocom Adventures for CP/M

Updating this thread with the good news - I've pulled together a new CP/M Infocom game loader. Depending on your CP/M configuration it can load most or all infocom games in z1-z5 format, with some limited text-only support for some z6 games. The code history comes originally from @JohnElliott 's...

Looking for a z machine interpreter for cp/m

Fantastic - just found this 10 year old thread and looks like my project might fill the need! While I know you're on it, for other people it's at https://gitlab.com/sijnstra1/vezza There's a few terminals available that work, and I have found some that really don't play nice, such as the Kaypro...

Lost Treasures of Infocom on CP/M

If you are using CP/M 3, it looks like the terminal emulation is VT-52 If that is the case, and you are keen to try not only the "The Lurking Horror", but also many of the later ones such as Sherlock, Nord and Bert, and more, you can try my new infocom interpreter. It takes the name of the data...

    Infocom Games and the FreHD?

Excellent! And yes it remembers the state of Caps-lock.

    Infocom Games and the FreHD?

There's quite a bit out there, although due to various limitations (screen size and memory) it will be some work to find out which ones will play well. As a start, there are conversions of the Scott Adams adventures, include 2 that never made it to the TRS-80 before - Spiderman and The Hulk. You...

    Infocom Games and the FreHD?

Awesome - thanks for doing that and sharing it! If you're focusing on genuine Infocom (or Activision?) games that are playable, there are a couple you can add to the list of games that will work on the Model III: Border Zone Zork: The Undiscovered Underground A few of the incomplete games will...

    Infocom Games and the FreHD?

Well that took a lot longer than expected.... I've now published the update so it performs a little better, supports transcript properly, and also now has enough room to play BorderZone as well as (most of) Shogun. Note with these two and any of the larger/more recent games, a hard disk/FreHD or...
