RGsB (RGB Sync on Green) output to VGA/HDMI/DVI

I'm using an OSSC (Open Source Scan Converter) with my GIGI and it works fine - no configuration required. BNC to RCA into the OSSC and then HDMI to the monitor, you just select RGsB from the remote. I have the bitfunx version from Amazon, but would have bought the original...

    OS/2 1.1 serial port configuration

To continue the sad tradition of answering my own questions - I should really learn to sleep on things before firing questions into this forum ... The magic incantation is ... At the OS/2 command line: MODE COM1:9600,N,8,1,TO=OFF,XON=OFF,IDSR=OFF,ODSR=OFF,OCTS=OFF,DTR=ON,RTS=ON Set the terminal...

    OS/2 1.1 serial port configuration

Through a combination of random guesswork and stubborn determination I have managed to get Microsoft OS/2 1.10 running on my Toshiba t3100e 286 "laptop". I'm trying to get it to talk to tcpser emulating a Hayes modem on a Raspberry Pi via a USB-serial converter. I'm afraid that my ignorance of...

    OS/2 1.x on Toshiba t3100e?

To keep on answering my own questions ... The screen was messed up because OS/2 was trying to use the standard CGA driver on the Toshiba's 640x400 screen. Luckily the Compaq Portable III has the same resolution (possibly the same plasma screen??) so if you UNPACK DMPLASMA.DL@ from Disk04 of...

    OS/2 1.x on Toshiba t3100e?

So to answer my own question after more random stabbing in the dark ... The Nokia OEM version of Microsoft OS/2 1.10 works on the Toshiba t3100e. For completeness, the AST version won't boot the install disk, the Zenith version will boot the install disk but crashes shortly after. The display...

    OS/2 1.x on Toshiba t3100e?

I've done all the usual stuff with my Toshiba t3100e - fixed the hinge, replaced the dead HDD with an SD card set up as a 40MB disk and maxed out the memory to 5MB following the SIMM modification instructions elsewhere on this forum. It's happily running DOS 3.30, but I want to try a bit of OS...

DEC GIGI / VK100 and tcpser

It's a cheap Unitek serial converter, so I'm guessing that it is using 5v for the signal lines (+/-2.5v)? I had a quick look at the GIGI technical manual, and it should be happy with +/-2.25v but I'm guessing that may have slipped a bit with age.

DEC GIGI / VK100 and tcpser

I was lucky enough to be gifted a GIGI a couple of years ago (thanks Mike!). It works like a charm connected to my MicroVAX via a DECServer 200 terminal server at 9600 baud with software flow control (XON/XOFF). I have started messing around with tcpser on a Raspberry Pi via a USB-serial...

    Apple Pascal with 5.25" Unidisk

The thought did cross my mind. I haven't had the II Europlus for long, so I'm still going through the "nostalgic" phase of enjoying using physical drives ... that will pass ...

    Apple Pascal with 5.25" Unidisk

Thanks resman (and olePidgeon) - trying to boot off the unidrive helped me work out I have a bad controller card. It won't boot with the Unidisk and controller in slot 6 (so the Disk II and Disk II controller out of the system) - just goes straight to basic. Same for Dos 3.3 and Pascal.

    Apple Pascal with 5.25" Unidisk

Looks like I have a failing I/O disk controller card. Apex II diagnostics will occasionally recognise it as a Disk II controller card, but usually comes back with "unknown card". Both proms give the right checksums, the only socketed logic chip checks out ok and it still reads and writes...

    Apple Pascal with 5.25" Unidisk

Thanks. Been lurking for a few years (and picked up all sorts of useful info) - but this is my first thread, so still subject to moderation from the lovely admins :-)

    Apple Pascal with 5.25" Unidisk

Both Disk II drives work fine with Pascal. I added the Unidisk as a third drive to reduce the disk swapping. I was hoping to leave Pascal disks #1 and #2 in the two Disk II drives and use the third disk for program storage.

    Apple Pascal with 5.25" Unidisk

I have an Apple II europlus with ... - two Disk II drives attached to a disk II controller in slot 6 - a 5.25" unidisk attached to an Apple I/O controller in slot 4 (also tried slot 5) The unidisk works fine under DOS 3.3, but I can't access it from Apple Pascal (I've tried 1.2 and 1.3). Is...
