Paul, I am glad to report that the Mini Cortex works! Amazingly it worked the first I powered it up with all components mounted. I am using a 64K (E)EPROM, so I needed to fiddle a little on how the memory layout needs to look like to make it look as a 32K ROM for the Cortex CPU. Not difficult...
