    CoCo2 Assembly Oddity: User Stack Weirdness (Seeking Feedback)

    The S register is setup by BASIC to be a sane value for stack usage. But Color BASIC doesn't use U register as a stack. It uses it for calculations and parameter passing. To do so you need to load U with a value that points to unused memory. And can grow down.
